looks fantastic!

I hate tech demos like this, they never represent what games using the technology will actually look like. It looks nice but most if not all of the footage is pre-rendered.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cuXgRVMvZ0&feature=player_embedded
looks fantastic!

Doubt it would actually run that well, but if it did, Id be very impressed. I also really want another star ocean :'(

normal hair, more mature look, no doll face...I know this is just a tech demo but I hope this is SO5's protagonist. Would be lame if they go back to that SO4 look after showing us this.
It's a cutscene though. Would be interesting to see how it would look during gameplay.SaltyMeatballsIt's not. You can see the jaggies in the environment. It forgoes for better texture and lighting and less perhaps on polygon count. It was also stated they didn't use any pre-rendered CGI scenes in it. Which is clearly evident by some of the AA issues in the demo.

Im just glad tri-Ace have some idea as to how to modernise SO...
Regardless, very interesting, hopefully means more HD games from them.

This was specifically created as a tech demo by this dev.
It's not that impresive to be honest. Heck the newer futuremark benchmarks on PC are a LOT more impressive.

It's also misleading. It's a tech demo. Look at the texture resolution and the decent quality DOF. A real console game can't do that because it's not JUST holding the few texture maps running in that particular scene scene, and it wouldn't have anough CPU resources left to do complex AI, pathfindindg, logic, etc.
In other words It's NOT what's possible with current console tech ---- outside of a carefully controlled environment like a non-interactive tech demo.
It is kind of amazing how many tricks there are to disguise low-resolution textures.foxhound_fox
And in the end, its all just more blur to hide uglies.
Still, the lack of AA rapes me eyes.

That game was unplayable imo. Outside of the combat everything is piss poor. Got half way through the 2nd disk and quit.Screw the tech demo, bring me a Star Ocean looking like that. I just bought The Last Hope International (had it once for the 360), and the character models are laaaaaaaame :(

[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"][QUOTE="NuclearFlower"]Dem jaggies and low resolution textures.mitu123Please what jaggies? You don't see jaggies??? No, images couldn't possibly look clearer.
[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"][QUOTE="mitu123"] You don't see jaggies???mitu123No, images couldn't possibly look clearer. I even spotted them in the pics. where?

In the 1st pic it's on his suit and various parts of his head and hair, in the 2nd pic on it's vehicle, the 3rd pic is on the boxes, 4th pic is around glass cases, part of the desk and shadows, 5th pic has them on shadows, the boxes, cabinets, poster on the left and right, the overuse of depth of field makes them hard to see, but even in the videos there were tons of jaggies.
