The graphics are very impressive but, they'll need to improve (shake up) the gameplay for me to really enjoy it.

Anyone else feel its gotten a bit stale with the last few entries? I'd like them to be more creative with the gameplay personally.

They said in an interview that they are making TEKKEN 6 from scratch/ground up to change the movements and actions of each character so when you play T6 you will feel like it's your first time playing a Tekken game, I hope they will not screw the gameplay with this move,

These pics looks so sweet, I hope the J version comes this year, Im anticepating this game for a long time, I WANT TO PLAY TEKKEN. :)

If you compared entre's from EVO this year from Tekken to SSB, there were only two semi final catagories for SSB while Tekken had like...hell 8? 9? Yeah. SSB isn't as popular as some of you Sheep think it is. Still a great game and I've seen some EVO fights with Smash and...wow. I could never get to that calibur of playing.

Not really. From Tekken 2, we got 3 which is still one of the top best reviewed games (according to Gamerankings). 3 was a great big step for Tekken. Then we got 4 which was a right step into the 3D gaming, just that the mechanics of Tekken were broken and didn't favor to us fans. Then we got 5 which was a vast and huge improvement all around. I think 5 is the best installment of the series. After the release of Dark Resurrection, the game have been balanced very well and it can be very competitive. It's a great game and I don't see why people think this is generic trash. You can't even compare it to DOA or Smash. Now, if it were comparable to say VF, now that's a huge debate which I'd be happy to go up again with anyone. ;)

Naw. If you seen any of the recent vids of Tekken 6, it looks very similiar (gameplay-wise) to Tekken 5. Not that it's a bad thing, they've just added a few more gameplay elements. Destructable environments (which is dumb IMO) the Rage System (makes no sense, but it was part of TTT in a way) and the...I don't know what it's called, but it's a knock back mechanic with particular moves with characters for the ground juggles of the sort.

As far as when it's coming out, the JA release will be by the end of the year. US release I don't know. They're pretty expensive cabinets. I think it was $29,000 for the cheap version of one? But Namco has gone on to say, that we'll see Soul Calibur 4 first to consoles before we see Tekken 6. So later next year is my guess is when we'll see it on console/s.

Agreed, if only Capcom make a new street fighter then we can compare Tekken with it.

Saying you suck at a game is one thing. Not everyone wants to go through a learning curve. But to compare the game mechanics from one game to the next is a far more different subject.

What I dont like is that with the whole fighting system, you only have to rely on 5 or 6 moves since almost everything is safe to throw out. And lets not forget AA and BB, 2A are your best friends. You'll be throwing those out 70% of the match.

What I dont like is that with the whole fighting system, you only have to rely on 5 or 6 moves since almost everything is safe to throw out. And lets not forget AA and BB, 2A are your best friends. You'll be throwing those out 70% of the match.

Hrm. True. People have problems with those. Although I've seen people use a good amount of the parry type moves. Heh. I've seen matches where each player would go into a parry frenzy with each other. I guess it all boils down to what kind of fighter you play as. The aggresive type. The "zone" type. Throw bizotch type. Side step/counter type. Many many things you can do really. Just the big problem was, you have characters that were way too powerful to start with. Nightmare and Asteroth come to mind.

No, No, I meant the retail J version, If it is for this year, it will be great to have it with GT5 : Prologue.

Go check outhttp://sdtekken.com/tekken-6/ ;) They have a good amount of videos from the first beta arcade test, to the recent A2 debut where they showed off one of the new characters Bob (or as I like to call him, Fat Bob). JA console release is unknown right now. All that is known is the JA aracade release by the end of this year.

Ya I know that, but I think most people who like DOA or Smash because it is easier games, me and alot of friends mostly play Tekken and third strike, SC, DOA occasionally, not always and we don't take smash seriously so we are not into it, I've played smash a long time ago and I did left it behind because it is mostly for fun not for compete, may be that's a matter of taste also.

He possesses the Devil Gene that was passed on from his father, Kazuya. After winning the King of Iron Fists Tournyment 5, he's now in control of the Zaibatsu.

Not really. EVO proves how big Tekken is. VF5 was nothing but a dismal showing at EVO this year. There were more matches involved with Street Fighter 2 Turbo than VF5. Soul Calibur didn't even exist at EVO because of how unbalanced the game is. Tekken is one of the top tier fighters out there, probably the biggest one in the 3D fightinging department.

It looks very 'clean'; after seeing how good SCIV is coming along I knew Tekken would eventually look better. The graphics are getting pretty close to VF5's standards too which is a great thing.

They should really slow down the evolution of Yoshimitsu though; it's getting very bizarre.

I dunno? What's up with foxes that fly ships and shoots lazers? Or some winged creature thing with a big nose? Hrm. Wtf indeed. DOA4 doesn't even look as good as this. Although VF5 is still tops in the look departement. Until we see the final version of the arcade at the end of the year, we shall see.

Heres a spanner to throw in the works.

Based on what GS review scores are available, tekken as a franchise across all platforms, including the gimped tekken 4 and the GBA tekken, still scores an average of 8.9.

Thats allmost AAA, including the GBA tekken score and Tekken 4.

Try working the average out for any other 3D fighting game, including all incarnations, Yes you guessed it, not even close, This proves to me that tekken is consistantly the best 3d beat em up around, based on GS reviews of course.

Now im not going to argue that say here and there certain incarnations of a game are better than most tekkens, however Tekken has the chops to back up its fans and it remains one of the most tournament played 3D beat em ups.

Argue with that.
