kind of ironic since i feel some people are getting paid to sell a system
It looks good, but almost every seen shown was a cutscene, so its impossible to evaluate how the gameplay will look.lhughey
yeah but Naughty Dog uses in-engine assets in their cutscenes. they just add lighting and stuff, but not to the point that cutscenes look different than gameplay. just look at UC1 and UC2. besides, you already know that ND lets their players experience the biggest moments of the game through gameplay. just look at UC2's fallnig building, moving train, falling gigantic bridge, and now UC3's sinking ship, burning chateau, falling plane, etc. all of these are not cutscenes. you are actually playing inside the ship while it's sinking, or inside the plane while it's falling. that's ND for you. you don't watch a plane fall, you're inside the plane climbing a cargo about to fall off. :)
I'd like to know what part in that clip got people so excited? Sometimes you guys sound like you're getting paid to be here.percechIt's probably because you're not that interested in the game. There are some games where people collapse out of excitement and I just think "What was so impressive about that?" Different tastes, I'm very excited and I've already spoiled too much of the game for myself, and I watched it. I shouldn't have, but I did. The graphics are unbelievably impressive from that trailer, that is what impressed me the most. I just can't wait to be immersed in this game, it looks incredible to me.
I have a feeling Gamespot will give this best graphics over Battlefield 3 easily. I mean look at dem graphix!

if MS showed Gears 3 back in 2005 (i mean, a 2005 360 can run Gears 3), people would have been floored saying "now this is next-gen!"
if Sony showed Uncharted 3 back in 2006, people would have burned Naughty Dog for witchcraft. 8)
It doesn't stand a chance against Battlefield 3. It might win however due to the fact the hardware it is running on. I'm not as impressed by Battlefield 3 because when I look at it I'm not surprised by what I'm seeing. It should look that good, with the hardware it is running on. But Uncharted 3 on the other hand, what they have been able to do with their limits is just amazing. If this were shown at the beginning of the generation people would have been like "No way is that real!"I have a feeling Gamespot will give this best graphics over Battlefield 3 easily. I mean look at dem graphix!

Exactly what I'm thinking. They'll give it to Uncharted 3 because it looks so unbelievably impressive for 5 year old tech. Same thing happened with MGS4 and Crysis.

Um, no, they didn't give it to Crysis Warhead in 2008(Crysis won 2007) because it was on the same engine so they wouldn't give the same award twice. If a 2007 PC game can win so can a 2011 PC version of a game, but we'll see.[QUOTE="Blazerdt47"]

Parts of the trailer that showed gameplay:
It mostly had cut scenes but what do you expect from a TV ad. Most commercials don't show gameplay or even cut scenes lol. So I don't think anyone should complain.
This is what GamesRadar said about the game too: "The Uncharted series is known for often feeling like a playable action movie, and in our recent time at Sony's offices, we saw how Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception goes even further in melding gameplay with cinematic flair. What's remarkable is that we were in control of Nathan Drake the entire time, even though much of it felt totally like a cutscene (again, the series is known for this, but it's still amazing to experience it in new areas for the first time)."
Parts of the trailer that showed gameplay:
- 10-13 seconds
- The vertical cover scene where the guy was falling
- When Nate punched the guy with the turban in the end
