If you could use the controls on the Pad, it shouldn't be a hassle for games like:
-Tatsunoko vs Capcom
-Naruto: Clash of Ninja series
-Goldeneye Remake
-Rayman Origins
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl
-Sonic Colors and Unleashed
But other than that, it's even more limited than it is with some of the compatible Wii U games.

Um, yes? Â This is a topic about being able to play Wii games off-tv. Â Did you expect Wii games from the future?
Lol who would want to use the Wii mote on that tiny screen?CleanPlayerit definitely lends itself to some games more than others. I figure that it's only really useful for games where the wiimote is used as an extra, for selecting items in menus and such. There's lots of games that use a lot of motion sensing but not the pointer (mariokart, wiisports, nsmb)

Idk why gamers would chose to play on the tiny gamepad screen when they can use their flat screen. Hopefully in the future, Nintendo could implement gamepad controller support, THEN this feature could be cool (Especially with Wii's virtual console lineup)
Wait, I thought this was a feature Nintendo bragged about since day 1?
They are just now rolling it out:?
dercoo
It was a feature for WiiU games, not Wii games.

well it appears you can play the whole wii Virtual console on the gamepad as well..with a wiimote or classic controller of course..so thats kind of cool too.

Yeah I can't wait till Super Mario RPG comes on Wii U virtual console. Which would be a complete pain in the ass, considering every Wii game would need a patch.what were people expecting for off tv gameplay? How else would you play a wii game? im sure they'll eventually add CC emulation for the gamepad eventually. you asked for off tv support for wii, and there it is. stop complaining and buy some games and show there is audience for the damn system then maybe ur crying will be justified. W101 just bombed and there are ppl still clamoring for a new IP from nintendo. y'all always complaining.

That I agree on. Sure Nintendo is at fault for quite a few things the Wii U is struggling with, but gamers behavior prove that they are no better. It's as I said a few threads ago, no sides have any innocents on the matter.

The way I see it, a company has to provide products that people see as worth getting, and if they don't, they don't sell well. It's not like anyone should feel obligated to buy anything they don't feel keen on for whatever reasons. In terms of something new, I think Nintendo could have designed something better than Platinum's W101. In terms of multiplats, I can't blame many Wii U owners for wanting to get them on far more popular systems like the PS3 and Xbox 360. Maybe they have friends with those systems they play online with, or could be other reasons as well like performance in some games.
Maybe you meant something else. I just thought it was interesting, you seem to have a different point of view to me, implying gamers are guilty of something. I'm just not seeing it that way.
People complaining about pointing your wiimote at the small gamepad screen:
I have around 40+ Wii games, and around 6 of those games actually require pointing at the screen. So for a start, you're attacking something that isn't significant.
Secondly, even if you needed to point at the screen, it still works. I can sit around 1 metre (maybe a bit less) and still have comfort pointing at the small screen. Given that the screen is small, you need less range of motion to get the pointer to where you want it.
Something positive happens with Nintendo, people still find ways to bash it. Â
[QUOTE="locopatho"]I don't know how you'd actually set up the gamepad comfortably to point the Wiimote at it?KBFloYd
you need to have the stands from the deluxe version
Oh ok. And you set that up on a coffee table or something? I think I'd just boot other people off the TV instead :P[QUOTE="KBFloYd"][QUOTE="locopatho"]I don't know how you'd actually set up the gamepad comfortably to point the Wiimote at it?locopatho

and you can watch the football game and play wii games at the same time :P
or play wii games in the toilet.
How would you play nearly all the games considering they use waggle? Skyward Sword would be impossible to play that way. Capitan_Kid
Nintendo fans can hold the Wii U controller in one hand and waggle in the other.

But who was sensor bar? :o
CleanB
I was. Â Do you feel violated?
lololol  What so funny?[QUOTE="Chozofication"]Indeed, i'll try Xenoblade and see how it looks when i get the wii u. LMFAOThat's awesome for games that don't need motion controls.
Really, that's cool.Â

I was told I could play my Wii games off TV.
Why do I still need my console to be hooked up to a TV to play Wii games?
EDIT: I see, so I just needed to hook my Classic Controller and move right once and press a.
In other news, you can't watch Youtube movies in the browser anymore. The system locks up if you try it. Wonder if that was part of the 'update'.donalbane
now that is a huge bummer.
