Have microsoft fixed the problems that have had the 360 been labled as the least reliable console this gen or are the problems still goign on. this has put alot of people off getting a 360 and i jsut wanted to know even though the reputation has been tarnished have the hardware problem been solved. this stops alot of people including me from making a firm choice on a next gen console even though its a clear cut choice with what games i like better.

Have the hardware problems been ficed to some extent?

Please no fanboys spreading any false responses without knowing.

I hope they fixed it. I am considering buying a 360 again because my friends want me back on xbox.

Fingers crossed...if not then I will just keep my live account on my friends 360 :D...:(

The falcon chips are out. They dont completely erase RROD, but it severly lowers the chances,

No console has a 0% Fail rate. Get the Best Buy warranty. And don't let it hold you back from getting a 360. Fanboys tend to make it a lot worse than it is.

A year and a half, no problems from my 360.

I bought my 360 yesterday, and I'm already on my fifteenth replacement. :x

I own all 3 systems. Hope all of your 30k posts aren't like that. Fanboys are the one labeling the 33%/16% Fail rate. How do they know a percent? I wasn't polled, do they work for Microsoft?

Every. Single. One.

God, how obvious do I have to make it that I'm being sarcastic and actually supporting your point.

Even if it was 100% break within 3 years, MS will replace them for free if ANYTHING breaks in the first year, and for 3 years for RRoD. Once the 3 year warranty came about, I bought a 360. Because that was good enough for me.

Cause i gave my pro to my nephew, I had the money at the time *was saving up for ps3 when it eventually lowered in price and got the games i wanted* and i ended up winning the ps3 in a local contest, so i went ahead and purchased the elite a while later and gave the pro to my nephew.

You are a level 29 and don't know the answer to this?

The 360's problems have not been fixed. Not even MS themselves have made such a claim.

Lol, wow what a shocker, all the same dudes that hate the 360 says it's not fixed and almost everyone that does own one says what difference does it make when the fix is free and the trouble is worth it when you consider the games. Where have I seen this before oh yeah I rem now I've seen the same answer IN EVERY FREAKING RROD THREAD.

The failure rate came from the warranty companies. Gamestop stop selling warranties for the 360. It was all over the news. All that is not fanboy talk, you thing the news care about the 360, its a news story and media cover stories. You know how much trouble someone will get into for reporting a false news report, (look what happend to Dan Rather with the Bush report). 16%, 33%, there are just number but the fact is its a big issuse.

I'm not gonna front, I do want another 360, but not at that price. I send the system back and that might be kool for some people, but thats not for me, 4real, I dont have time for all that.

The problem has been reduced, but its a bit hazy as to where we stand now. I dont think its been fixed, and AFAIK, the failure rate is still way above average.

To answer the question the newer models of the 360 made after july of '06 should have the new falcon 65nm chips in them along with a larger heat sink. Thats the facts on the hardware and I have personally heard of no problems but I will admit I am not all that well informed.

And secondly, What is the point of bashing eachother here? You're not solving anyones problems by arguing on a thread. Ok I'm had my little rant so hopefully I helped someone.

No he isn't. I am not being a fanboy. I am telling the truth. What does the truth hurt? I would love to have a 360, but the whole RRoD issue is what keeps me from getting one. See you=fail. I don't hate the 360 and would like to play it's games (and sometimes do at friends houses), but until the RRoD has been fixed enough to have a low enough defect rate, I will not own one.

I've had my elite heading close to a year now, and I have not had any issues, but the premium that I had before broke after I sold it. Guy told me he got the red rings. He's all set now, just sent it in and he got another one.

It has been significantly reduced. X360 is no doubt the best console this gen. Just follow this video and you're all set: http://youtube.com/watch?v=m3PbS1u98O4

The problem has been reduced, but its a bit hazy as to where we stand now. I dont think its been fixed, and AFAIK, the failure rate is still way above average.

The failure rate is only above average for those who find it convenient to bash the 360.

Xbox 360 fans always have working launch 360's and cows always have the better lineup year after year jeeeeeeezzzz
