could be good but after the extremely expensive and malfunctioning BF4 - i'm hardly enthusiastic.

You wear a peace symbol and have born to kill written on your helmet. Is that some sort of sick joke?
Lol.....FMJ.Good movie.
It's official. The new BF is called Hardline, and is made by Visceral.
"The game launches this fall and it’s a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise, set against the backdrop of a genre we all love – the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals."
Link.
Not sure if want.
Also aren't DICE busy with that new Battlefront game?
Read my update. Not DICE. Visceral Games.

No, it's to say something about the duality of man.
Anyway, for those who didn't see it before it was removed, the gameplay looked pretty good. Looks like the game will be leaning heavily towards singleplayer which I find pretty exciting.
Hmm very interesting, will have to keep my eyes on this one. It could be something unique is just very generic
Do you think it could fill in the void left by the absence of SWAT series? However, this seems a lot less grounded in realism, and more focused on simply delivering "fun".
the destructible environments caught my attention
thanks for posting the video, I feel better about this game now

What I meant was the reason why Visceral is making next BF is because DICE are busy with Battlefront :P
I was a bit vague.
the concept is good (at this point give me ANYTHING over modern military theme) but what's up with these graphics? Please tell me this was running on Xbone in its glorious 792p.
Just watched the gameplay video. Not going to lie, it looks pretty good. Bunch of new game modes and the setting is working better than I imagined.
They really aren't kidding around either. New AI system and really awesome looking single player. Hell this is a straight up risk for EA to bet on such a departure from the military shooter.
So is this going to be a Payday-like game? Or just a smaller, straight up shooter?
This looks like a straight up competitive shooter, with a separate campaign. Maybe some unique modes as it relates to "cops and robbers". Doesn't sound like Payday which was all co-op, and little or no competitive.
This doesn't look TERRIBLE, but you can still see the heavy influence of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. The last time the "Battlefield Engine" was given to another team to make a multiplayer shooter, it ended in mediocrity (Medal of Honor) - and the studio Danger Close only survived to make 2 games.
With Medal of Honor brand name destroyed, it seems like EA now has their sites set on Battlefield. (not in the sense that this game looks terrible, but they are still trying the "annual franchise" crap... except now they aren't even pretending to have 2 different shooter franchises... they are just going straight to annual releases of Battlefield). This only ends with one outcome...
No mention of conquest, so its a no buy for now. The fact that its called Battlefield just really pisses me off too. Dice makes Battlefield, and Battlefield has Conquest.

DICE is done making Battlefield games for the forseeable future. They are working on Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror's Edge 2 as well as continuing to develop and support the Frosbite 3.
Not sure if want. Looks pretty meh, I'll probably pass.
Same here. To each his own but I found the trailer to be rather mediocre. If anything this may just be a gamefly rental if that unless they show something that looks much better.
Still same clunky shooting from other battlefield. Why no co op? Only story seem interest, MP look meh.
Looks interesting. I don't think we have many, or enough, games that really deal with this setting in the multiplayer space.
It's funny because this is completely reminiscent of a failed Kickstarter project a couple of years ago from a bunch of CoD, BF, and Ubisoft guys. I'll try to find it.
You know, for a while there I thought there might actually be a chance that we'd get a Swat 4 style tactical shooter. I should have known better. The multiplayer looks alright, but the single player looks atrocious. The minute you start throwing around cop drama as a highlight...

still think it's gonna need conquest or some nice big open map big team mode if it wants the fans to embrace it. otherwise, hell yeah, im down for the new gametypes and the setting. glad they found something that hasnt been done to death.
@Wasdie:
Okay? Whats your point? We dont need a BF game this year.
This game isn't exactly Battlefield. It's a SWAT-ish game with much smaller maps and different game modes. Hardline looks like a completely different game with "Battlefield" sticked to its title.

Yeah, the fact that its called Battlefield just annoys me even more.
