Definitely not. I don't even have adequate internet to make the transition, but I still doubt that I would. With a digital collection, you're always limited by hard drive space. Physical games? Just ceiling space :P.

No. My internet is slow (DON'T buy satellite internet) and seeing as though I just got a set up to fit my games and consoles in I's like to build my collection.

I might. Seeing as backward compatibility is becoming less common I'm not buying any more hard copies that become useless at the end of a gen. What's the point of having a collection if you have to keep 10 consoles hooked up to play whatever you want? If the Big 3 can match Steam with their digital distribution methods I'll be all over it.

Yeah satellite sucks. Wireless internet from a mom and pop company is the way to go for people who cant get cable or dsl.

No, I support retail wherever I can, especially games like The Witcher 2. They really put effort into making the physical package something worth having. The regular edition comes with more stuff than most deluxe editions do.

Never. I love having a physical library of games, even if it's currently on the other side of the planet. I'll still buy digital releases though.

No. I like my PS3 and Wii boxes (sometimes I enjoy the boxes more than the game). The only thing thats completely digital is my PC library with the exception of about 3-4 games.

[QUOTE="sethman410"]I'm scared about losing my games because of hardware failure. I hate making backups and it's just a waste of time. I still want physical copies so I can collect and not worry about losing them.bri360

This.

Its logical to have physical copies. Not much use in downloading your gamesand losing them all if something happens to the hardware. If you have physical copies, you can get your games back on your hardwareinstead of re-buying AND downloading them all over again.

Well if you buyyour games on steam which most everyone does, you can just redownload it and if you ever loose your copy from hardware failure, its linked to your account; you can download it as many times as you want.

But don't you have to re-purchase the game(s) that you lost? (I don't use steam; nor do I have XBOX Live or PSN)

If the PS4/Xbox3 have very large/upgradeable storage, probably. I love Steam and I find buying PSP games off of PSN very convenient(although I do still like some discs). They should make next gen like Steam-powered games; buy a physical product in stores and you can add it to your account and then download it whenever you want.

^ Makes sense; but if you keep everything inits case likea pserson issupposed to, the incidents with scratched disks and whatnot will decrease dramatically.

I hope not. I'd rather not sit for hours downloading a new game unless they gave us the option to download it a few days early before it releases. Also due to internet restrictions I can't see it working. Some people have monthly bandwidth limits, other have very slow connections (download/upload wise), and I'm sure some have no internet at all out there. I just don't see it happening anytime soon. They may give you the option to download via digital, but full fledged digital only next gen? I highly doubt that.

I have basically already moved to complete digital. I mostly play PC games and get 90% of them on Steam. Even those that I get in retail I eventually buy on Steam when it goes on sale just because it is so nice to have a game on Steam. My Wii and PS3 games are the only ones that I have to still get in stores.

As SSDs become larger and cheaper, digital purchases with just be even better. Faster loading times and lower power usage.

I think there will be regular retail games, if they want to encourage digital distribution though they have to give it a big advantage over retail, right now retail copies cost just as much as the downloads, sometimes much more, make the games significantly cheaper to the point people might prefer the digital distribution model, the good side of that is it'll weaken the used game market and it'll keep revenues flowing the the publishers.

Probably not digital only but digital for most games, assuming they are more than $10 less than physical, unless a title holds some sort of sentimental value for me.
