You know, in LotR there is that part where Frodo is at Rivendel (in the movie). Those lightning effects were so real and un-real at the same time that it looked great, if you know what I mean. So I think that a game that looks just like real life isn't going to be boring unless there is no imagination and creativity left, which is something that always happened. And who wouldn't like graphics such as Kung fu Panda's in a more cartoon-looking videogames? If you have the ability to create "perfect" graphics it isn't necessary to do it the boring way.

I think the thing that stuns me the most is not the "graphics" but the extremely realistic movements of the character. You can have all the fancy graphics you want, but if it moves like a robot, it's not very appealing. It looks amazing, simply because the character moves her hands, eyes, head and lips, just like a real human would.

Meh. Knew it when I first saw her. Something slightly 'inhuman' about her. Honestly, I think realism to that extent is a bit.... creepy.

Exactly, and if you think that's creepy, you should have seen what was on CNN. I saw a glimps but they were showing a live human-like android but inhuman in motion in an almost exact replica of the man who created it.

I don't get it, that video is like 200x200 resolution, gran turismo 5 looks real at that resolution

if it was like 1080p them im pretty sure things would be different

There's higher resolution versions available, much higher.

You can still tell it's fake though, it doesn't look 100% lifelike (although it's pretty close).

I agree, when graphics are so good they're actually almost life-like it kinda defeats the point of playing the video games... mm that didn't really make sense, it's hard to explain.

That may be somewhat difficult, since such technology would still be much too costly for videogaming systems and videogames to be accesible enough. Maybe not in the entire 8th generation, but maybe in the last couple of years of it.
