Well if you think of it that way then everything from smartphones to tablets to laptops are scams.
Simple fact is convenience wins over horsepower.

[QUOTE="GarGx1"][QUOTE="lowe0"] Not interested in actually debating? Fine. I'll make my point either way. The point is that 1 in 1000 (the ratio hypothesized by the quoted poster) still isn't good enough. A key tenet of the console experience is that you shouldn't have to worry about whether your controller is supported - if it's on the back of the game, it'll work. That's what I like about consoles: I have the technical knowledge to work through issues, but if it's not adding value, then why would I want to?lowe0
Yet 0% of console games properly support keyboard and mouse, which is undoutedly the fastest and most accurate way to play a shooter (first or third person). So limited control options on a console is good but 1 game where you have to use a third party programme for a controller is bad. (I'm sure if you dig enough you'll find a couple more)
Please corect me if I'm wrong here.
Sure. The problem is that you're starting from the input device and then fitting the user scenario onto it. The original quote was about replacing a console with a PC - the device needs to fit the user scenario, not the other way around. To simplify, if im playing a game in my living room, it had better support a game pad. If I'm playing at my desk, it had better support a mouse and keyboard. How I want to game dictates the hardware, rather than the hardware dictating how I have to game. At the risk of belaboring the point, doing otherwise would be to put the cart before the horse.Well, I'll project my position on the control methods and options here. My Xbox 360 is plugged into my PC monitor. I do indeed play Xbox games at my desk where I would much prefer to play games such as Halo * or Gears of War 3 with a keyboard and mouse, alas this is not possible because the option is not there. There's not even the option of third party software to make it run. So I'm forced to play these games with a controller. At least if I ever choose to use the controller on a PC, I can. Even if it's not supported naitively.
The Xbox is plugged into the monitor because my young children usually have Cartoonito or Boomerang on the TV and you try arguing with 5 year old twins about who has control of the TV or if the kids are in bed then the wife is watching something. I'm a married man, I don't have any TV rights. :(
Sorry Lostrib, it's rude not to reply to a discussion and I did quote Lowe0 first.

Unfortunately, it's a bit too late to apply the solution I used for that problem (never have children). My consoles are attached to TVs; my PC and monitors are at a desk.I'd say that your user scenario would be better satisfied by a PC.

Is that different ? Many tablets nowdays feature quadcore processors 1.6gz, 1 gb of RAM, NVIDIA´s gpus. Basically the same and even better specs current gen cosoles have. All of them can be plugged into HDTV. Some smartphones can be converted into netbooks already
So how long it will take untill they become hardcore for gaming. 2 years? 4 years?
jhonMalcovich
Um what? That's not related, we are discussing how the popularity in android is driven by a different factor than what drives gaming consoles.
Let me see. I come home. I plug my tablet into HDTV. I take up my bluetooth controller. Isn´t it how console gaming works ?
PS: I describe hypothetical scenario in the future (in 2-4 years)
Part of the Android games succes are the price...you know they are really cheap or ou know free, what good will come out if i have an HDTV tablet only to play games like Ninja Fruit? Yeah, companies like Nintendo or MS would definitely make games for that platform, but again, why release games for another platform if they can afford to make their own and still release great games that will catch the consumers money.
Guess what. Yeah true system specs would be cheaper just to build a PC, but this new console hardware can be optimized to make some amazing graphics, while since PC hardware differs from person to person, games are not optimized you end up paying too much for your video cards because games don't really even take advantage of them.
Why don't hermits get that people don't give a damn about how fast or accurate a mouse is, after a hard days work they just want to sit back on the couch lay back and enjoy their frekin' game.

Because if they don't use Gamespot to recruit more suckers, the Steam platform will die and their entire gaming investment will go down the toilet.

Hmm? It's not a recruitment effort; in fact, it's repeatedly been explicitly stated that they don't want console gamers on PC.The do nickel and dime the customer more than you see on other platforms so it really is fitting actually. Who else makes you pay $60 for a game and then makes you pay even more to play it online? I can watch netflix with a better interface I might add for free on PS 3 but on M$ 's box I have to subscribe to live gold.[QUOTE="Cranler"][QUOTE="percuvius2"]
Never read anything written by someone who uses M$ instead of MS. They're ALWAYS moron's.

Didn't read your post. See my post above for why.
Cant admit youre wrong?[QUOTE="jhonMalcovich"]
[QUOTE="StormyJoe"]
I wouldn't call them "low end". Secondly, Hermits need to get it through their heads that most console gamers do not want to play video games on a PC.

Consoles are locked PC boxes, genius.
Consoles don't require you to sit in some room off in the corner of the house like a "hermit", genius.
I'm gonna assume you game in the living room. The hell kinda place do you live in that has living room all over the place in the center of the house?
