I hope these rumors are fake. Next gen will be very boring if MS destroys the last remnants of the lem faction ...

your own points are in contradiction, I don't know one "hardcore" gamer who doesn't have an internet connection. So always connected isn't going to be a problem since as you state, they hold this industry together. What is Microsoft trying to accomplish with this type of model, it doesnt make sense at all. Internet connection isnt a staple alover the world and while the casual audience have proved to be a large market, the hardcore audience are still the ones holding this industry together, its the hardcore audience that pulls the casual audiences into gaming. I just hope the team behind the NextBox have a single clue what the Ferk they are doing and retrack and change all these BS. Perhaps it was a good thing the PS4 was shown early

There will always be lems, they will tell us how good kinect is.
I have a hardcore gaming friend who raves about how great it is. He brags about being able to talk to his xbox and have it interact with games. He seems to think it's only possible with a kinect... For some reason he's so blind to it he doesn't realize any god damn mic can do the same damn thing. Fanboys. I really don't get it..
[QUOTE="Malta_1980"]Exacly. Rumors, Rumors, Rumors. Will wait for the official unveiling. Until then.... Cows Gonna CiwNaahh until MS makes an official unveiling of the console we wont know whether or not its going to be a disappointment !!

vgleaks hardware rumors were always spot on. They werent wrong about the ps4 sepcs either, and even hinted sony upgrade from 4gb gddr5 to 8gb gddr5 ram
If the XBOX blocks used games, publishers are going to love them. I can see this actually leading to more exclusives on the platform as a result. It will certainly change the dynamic of the industry if one console blocks games and the other doesn't.
Careful there "wise" guy, SW in no place for that kinda logic. :PIf the XBOX blocks used games, publishers are going to love them. Wow will publishers put more games exclusive on your console when millions are not buying it because they like to sell their games.? Yeah but the general public as gamespot store proof will hate them, lastly the ultimate word is on the hand of the consumer the same go's for sony if they block games. Never under estimate consumers,as the wii proved.. Gamespot is filled with used games, which do show people love to trade in games is the reason gamespot make billions is not a thing of 2 or 3 customers,we are talking here about millions of people who sell their games, and could be pretty mad if they found out they can't sell what they legally bough..If the XBOX blocks used games, publishers are going to love them. If the console doesn't allow used games, gamestop can't take those games in trade and that means millions upon millions of angry costumers..[QUOTE="dogfather76"]

Is a rumor that also touch sony from what i read, and that will surely get sony and MS in trouble on EU were you have the right to sell your games even PC ones..Sounds like a big disappointment, indeed! Still just rumors, we should wait for something official.

K, that outta the way, Sony will let the pubs/devs block on PS4 and should Sony not let them, I sure hope Sony has plenty of exclusives cuz if MS blocks them and Sony doesn't, exclusives may be all you have on the system. Just sayin.

I don't think it's as simple as that. For the sake of argument, I think that some people will be turned off by the XBOX since it will keep them from playing used games. At the same time, I think that some people will be more attracted to the XBOX if it gains exclusives from companies that don't want Gamestop/Gamefly taking what they view as their profits.
Another option, and one that I think is very likely to happen, is that more games (on PS4 and XBOX) move to charging activation fees to play their used games. This is already being done to access multiplayer (Far Cry 3, Resistance BS, etc). I think that what could very likely happen is that ALL games start charging these additional fees to access all content (even single player). This will the publishers offset the money that they lose from the rental/used market. Like it or not, I think this is the way things are headed.

I like to be able to get second hand games, but out of all those rumors, that's the one that worries the least. At least it would be good for devs.
Mandatory online and kinect, on the other hand, would be reasons enough for me to not get the system.

There will always be lems, they will tell us how good kinect is.
You'll encounter the same phenomenon with the mandatory PS4 camera thing and the Sony crowd.
Notable lines:
- "Always on, always connected"
- Kinect will come with every console and it must be plugged in
- All games will have to be installed to HDD, no streaming from optical disk
- It has a blu-ray drive, but it won't be used when playing games
Gue1
Ahhh, f*ck. What's the point in complaining anyway? Consoles this generation were barely traditional (pop in the disk and play, my ass), and were more like gimped PCs. If this rumour is true, i'm not surprised.
Nah, they wouldn't do that. But its good from a developers standpoint because they can be assured that more of the installed base will use it. I'm really confused why so many people are scared of new features. I wasn't trippin' when my iphone came with Siri. I think its a gimmick, but its fun to use every once in a while. But that doesn't stop me from using my screen to move the UI. I look a Kinect much like Siri. Its fun to use every now and then, but I'll use a controller for 95% of things. M$ understand this. There are too many instances where using Kinect doesn't work (small room, very loud room, dark room). It will remain an optional feature, its just a standard option now ;) And I agree with you about the always on, always connected. Its nothing to be afraid of either. My PC is always on and always connected to the internet. That means I can wake up my monitor and use it at will. And if I decide to unplug it from the web, I can still use the programs that are on it (except browser, etc)."Always on, Always connected" doesn't mean being online is a 100% requirement. It may be like Sony's system where you can choose to leave your console online all of the time and have updates and stuff pushed to it.
The requirement of kinect scares me. I wonder if they'll make that the primary way to interact with their OS. That would be crap.
Wasdie
messed uplems greatest nightmare, being forced to install games and be always online to play them. If Kinect breaks the console will be rendered useless.... :)

Yeah you... this is about other millions of people who sell more games than you.. Do you actually think that developer will actually sacrifice million of dollars on PS4 version of games juts because MS will block used games.? Blocking used games in nothing warranty a sell of a new one,it just mean people will have less money to buy new games, sory but i hate gamestop and think used games rob developers and money, but gamestop is right, most of game gamestop does is give you credit which you can use how you like most people reinvest in new games. So no only sales will drop because those searching to save money and pay $20 to $35 less in for a new game will not have an option, but also they would fall if they are available in just 1 consoles,COD on xbox alone will loss Activision a truck load of money to much to even think about such a move. We may see how this go when gamestop start making campaign for games that are not block over games are block..As long as a standard controller is sold with the Console, I really couldn't care less if Kinect is with it. Regardless, I'll be waiting like a year to pick it up anyway. I'll own one eventually (I always own all the Consoles...every gen...) but I won't get it at launch like I am with PS4 and did with Wii U.
That being said, you could at least wait for an annoucement. This stuff isn't always true.

Mark this words no developer will risk make a game only for the 720 because it blocks used games..Disappointment to who? The lonely nerds who post nothing but hate around here? I'm sure MS won't care.percech
If that's true, the conscious consumer should care. As well as any gamer worth his salt.
Who gives a damn what MS thinks?
To be honest, Microsoft has nothing to fear. You gamers cave in so fast, its almost embarrassing. Everyone knew Sim City was going to be a screw up the second they announced the always online DRM. Gamers expressed their anger long before the game was released, yet they pre-ordered it. When the game finally was released all they got was a useless copy they couldnt return. The same thing will happen with the Xbox. You hate it, yet you buy it. Unlike many of you, I wont purchase.
