It seems so. Came out last January and people are still talking about it.

Honestly the only time I have ever heard it mentioned is on these forums. Couldnt tell you the first thing about it.
I would say so yes. Its pretty much perfect jrpg. The one thing that I can say I do hate about it is the randomness of catching familiars. As a completionist, trying to get all of the familiars has become a somewhat painful and tedious affair.
The game had so many flaws, it's not even funny. From Dumb party AI, to lack of voice acting, to the battle system. Ni No Kuni felt unfinished.

Fucking Esther. >:[
I bought into the hype here for the game. It looks really nice I like the animation stupid. But the game itself is bleh.

That's not saying much unfortunately. :P
I really should finish it though. Maybe the story will end up making up for infuriatingly annoying AI flaws.

no way in hell I can agree with this.Though I can agree its one of the most pretty ones this gen.

The atmosphere was incredible. Gameplay wasn't perfect but more than good imo. Also look at the reviews, it was one of the highest scoring Jrpg's this gen.
Runner-up: Tales of Xilia.
And if we're talking about best JRPG of all systems this gen it would be Persona 4 (Golden).
Great game and great battle system. If you know how to play right by using proper monster on human and equip with good spell. Some people complain that too hard because they are doing it wrong.
Joe Hisaishi is genius.
Ni No Kuni is a great game, it's one of my favorite jrpgs this gen. But unfortunately it definitely had some flaws.
-> The world felt a bit dull. I love when you can interact with items and read some cool description and most jrpgs feature this. You go up to a painting and inspect and the main character writes up some sentence bout it. Ni No Kuni did not have this (except on a very very few occasions). It made the environment kinda dull...
-> The AI of your companions are so bad. It has to be one of the worst Ais this gen?
-> The artstyle is really awesome though.
-> So is the music. Dat flying music.
-> THE best dubbed jrpg. The english dub is awesome and Drippy is 1000x cooler in english than japanese. Which leads me to...
-> Drippy. One of the best characters evarrr
-> I *REALLY* liked the way conversations was written. Often jrpgs are kinda slow and robotic when they talk/type. I guess it's to cater to all the dumb kids that can't follow the speed/accent of a typical conversation. The way character talked were just great, especially Drippy. *BEST* way of talking in a jrpg evarrr.
-> As mentioned above, they didn't slow down cutscenes or conversations, they had proper pacing. Cutscenes & conversations just felt vibrant...
-> On the downside, the game starts off with a proper amount of cutscenes (both normal and "drawed") but as you progress further, quality went down. Less voice acting. And those drawed cutscenes? I'm not gonna go into spoilers but it's very weird how absent the coolest form of cutscenes (drawed, anime style) were towards the end. There were some pretty major events that really should've deserved that. One _major_ cutscene towards the end didn't even feature proper voice acting. It's like they after half of the game went "oops money is out sry brah"
Definitely a good game but its biggest flaws clearly has to do with time/money issues unfortunately.
I have yet to play it, but do own it. Just bought it and Heavy Rain a week or so ago. Played some of Heavy Rain, but had to finish Alan Wake on PC and forgot about Heavy Rain and started Mark of the Ninja. I hope Ni No Kuni is as good as it seems to be.

yea I dont care about scores to judge a game. Heck xenoblade got a super high score and I dont think its that super amazing ether but I still think its good.Though I had a better time with last story. So far for me tales of grace is my favorite jrpg so far.
Puppeteer is.. its a gem that must be played by every single gamer.
eh... Puppeteer had fantastic visuals and charm, but the gameplay and level design left a lot to be desired. I also couldn't get into Ni No Kuni. I just can't stand having AI partners in a game and the combat system felt wonky and a little all over the place.

Pretty ironic to see a guy with a zelda avy raising complaints about the lack of vo. I kid, I kid. Unfortunately, my copy is still in the shrink wrap, so I can't comment on how many missteps this title has or hasn't made. I'll probably get around to it during winter break, if I'm lucky. My backlog is just crazy these days. :(
Fire Emblem Awakening is.
Consoles you ninny, otherwise P4G would be mentioned despite being an enhanced port.

Looks like someone didn't play Xenoblade. Xenoblade has better reviews than Ni No Kuni and Tales of Xillia. Xenobalde is the best JRPG of this gen.
You sure fall asleep playing it.
LOL that's what I said
I didn't check all comments. Glad you partially agree.

But I was born there. D:
I haven't pick this game up for the superior PS3. I know the sheeps beta test this game on their inferior handheld kiddy device.
Thank you, sheeps.
The game looked alright, but it seems like a lot of reviewers gave it some slack due to the art style. From what I've heard, the game play isn't particularly great and most of the side quests are just annoying fetch quests.
