NieR Automata not exclusive after all?

If you fast forward to 1:06 there's NieR Automata on but there is no logo saying PS4 exclusive or console exclusive whereas it's been consistently implemented for other games.

Is it safe to assume it's going to come out on X1 later? After all, if Rise of the Tomb Raider didn't sell that well, how could a game like NieR recoup its dev costs on one platform only?

Dare we say Japanese exclusivity but then Western X1 release after a couple of months?

Because unlike Tomb Raider, Nier isn't releasing on a lesser selling console. Also Nier will have no where near the budget of Tomb Raider and I'm assuming isn't releasing in the busiest release window.

However, unless Sony is funding the game, I wouldn't be overly surprised if it went multiplat.

Hmm. Well it's more likely that Nier would come to the Xbox one than it is for Scalebound to come to ps4 (0 chance of that), but this is probably just a mistake. You'd think we'd hear about Nier coming to Xbox by now if it was.

I noticed the only games with that mark in the video are being published by Sony, besides street fighter which they state is console exclusive. So that's why the symbol wasn't there for Nier Automata.

Possibly. If the PS4 versions proves popular enough, porting it elsewhere could make sense.

Though, at this point in time, a NX port could be the one in the plans (Ninty seems to be moving well with Japanese developers as of late).

@makemefamous07: It's kind of like the old day,3rd party won't mention if a game is exclusive for the leading console,they are just not coming to the lesser platform until further announcement.

If you look at the Japanese exclusives list,most of those games have never mentioned as ps4 exclusives(or console exclusives for that matter).

So dream on,there might be a day.

My guess is that a lot of people don't care. I'm sure such a niche game would benefit from a multi platform release.

as of now, there is no announcement for PC or X-1.

you can see in their official homepage that the only platform mentioned is PS4.

Seems they are watching PS4 2016 line up vids in awe and wonder of it's incredible selection while looking at the xbox one dissatisfied with what it has in comparison hoping for a few hand me downs from the multitude that PS4 has.

All I've seen about this game says PS4.....nothing else listed. I'm sure that can change but then it would say timed exclusive would it not?

I'd imagine a PC version is possible. There is almost no chance it goes to xbone. There is no audience for Japanese games on it. Even MGS V which is probably the most Western friendly Japanese game bombed on xbone.

pretty much this. The instant its announced multiplat then all sony fans will completely ignore it and it'll fall off the face of the earth. The only reason its hyped now is because it is exclusive.

Probably it will be released on pc or NX later but I doubt it world ever be released on one.

I loved Nier and I would buy any console that has Nier 2. Most of the interest is because it's exclusive yes but there is also a cult following for the first game. Nier got so popular because of word of mouth alone.

@acp_45: Yeah, I honestly want Nier to stay exclusive not because of fanboy reasons, but I want the game to be made for the best console hardware possible and not have a lowest common denominator. Plus I don't think it will sell nearly as much on Xbox one as it will on Ps4 anyway. In fact some people will buy it simply because it's an exclusive :P

i believe all gamers have the right to play any game on their own fav platform , i know this ain't gonna happen , it's like a dream but when there's a possibility for a game to be multiplat we shouldn't be the barrier.

So it should be on PC and neither the 900p-station or the 720p-box.

The game is the best looking 60fps game yet on consoles, it looks fantastic.

Cute, but how many games are 900p on Ps4 again? So far I see one game, FF15, that's not even out that looks like it justifies a 900p resolution and isn't a result of a lack of optimization.

You want your fav game to benefit from the best hardware, you want the best for your fav game , so why not play it on 4K 60fps or higher ?

Because that would involve getting a half decent PC.

Because it's a linear game with much less assets than an open-world game? And the difference is not THAT huge between the two consoles.

All i'm saying is that if one truly cares about his fav game , he shouldn't feel bad for it to release on PC. On PC the options are much more ...it's good for the game itself.

I don't game primarily on PC for good reasons, I smack down that PC master race bull. And I have a Pc that can play games at least far better than the 7th gen consoles. Physical games, no drm, ease of use, no fragmentation, 100% controller support etc etc. But sure, if it came to PC in the future it wouldn't hinder the PS4 release and more people would play the game.

I don't know why we're talking about the PC though when it's a Ps4 exclusive. The chances are higher it would come out on the Xbox one, and as I said I don't think that'll happen.

With Sqaure-Enix jumping on the PC bandwagon many years ago, long before most Japanese developers, chances are equal it will come to both PC and XB1 if it isn't an exclusive.

And really, if you did want the best for Nier 2, you'd want it on PC first, then consoles. That's just a fact.

There's chance for PC, but not for Xbox One.

It's pushing some of the best visuals even compared to 30fps games, and it's 60fps, so it's demanding. Open world games aren't the most demanding games by default. But you might think well all right, 1080p vs. 900p then, big deal.

But we don't know what the game is doing yet, the Ps4 does have advantages over the Xbone above the teraflop rating, like the 8 ace units that can be used for better physics and gpgpu compute. I can already tell the game is using advanced effects we sometimes don't even see in 30fps games, I just wouldn't want that to be hindered in any way and if they dialed it down for the Xbox, as I said I don't think an xbox release would help the sales that much so I don't see the point.

I'm looking forward to the NX version. Although this thread is really the first time I've ever heard of this game.

Would totally get if it came to XBO, but if not then that's why I have a PS4. I might even wait a few months if I had to, but more like a year then I'd just get it on PS4.
