hey now. A few of them at least had 1 good song.I was literally thinking about this the other day. Nintendo games do have the most character and are generally the most timeless games ever made; Super Mario Bros. being the biggest example. SW is in agreement that Super Mario World will never look bad and it won't. No game has aged as well as it has and you can't say that about many 2D games.
I think a (far) second to Nintendo is Valve but of course like Nintendo they're not always great (L4D). I think the Source engine is hands down the best gaming engine ever made. I personally don't think Half Life 2 will ever look bad and I still love the original Half Life, though many people here often say that it hasn't aged very well. It could be a hefty dose of nostalgia but I love the original HL. I'm fairly sure that if I came across it now and had never played it before I'd gladly go through it and still be amazed at the experience as a whole. Hell I'd argue that Half Life is a better game than 80% of the FPS's released after it.
Trent not a avid gamer :|Most of these "Stars" aren't vivd gamers anyway. Who cares what Shia, Megan or Trent thinks...?
boredy-Mcbored
Still, as much character and integrity that Nintendo games have, it's difficult for anyone on a budget to buy a "next-gen" system which is barely better than the specs of last-gen.
that was actually intelligent and informed. I'm actually quite surprised to here that from a celebrity about gaming. I've gain some more respect for him.OntainTrent's actually a pretty with it guy. Except I don't really think his music is anything special...
that's not what he said. he's talking about the styles.I don't agree with anything he said really.
He sorta contradicts himself too. He doesn't think ps1 could compete with the N64's graphics yet he likes Nintendo more this gen? Why should i listen to what he has to say?
Console_Gamer93
You must have some bad memory, since he is really good and successful.remember when nine inch nails was good? me neither.

Oh... Forget everything I said. You'll fit in here perfectly. Enjoy your stay!
You must find people acting idiotic really funny, then.I know man, sounds like a true gamer. Who knew?I'm certainly impressed. Atleast he knows what he's talking about, unlike Shia LaBeouf.

I'm actually pretty excited that Trent is going into video games now that he is on a break from NIN.
I think he will make awesome games! I like how he finished the interview when asked if he was considering making video games:
"I like playing shows, and I can play shows. I've played big shows and I've played **** shows. I've played where people show up and played where people don't show. But what excites me is working on stuff like the Year Zero project more than my current thing. I could keep doing shows. I'm pretty good at it, but I want to **** start something that I might suck at and try that. You know, to see what it's like to suck for once."

I have to say the first 2 albums were pretty good, after that it didn't change much if any just rehashes of the same stuff over and over. I wonder how many of you are aware of Pigface particularly the album Welcome to Mexico and his start in music. He sold out and his music suffered for it and I could care less about his opinions on anything.
Oh look, cows just made a new rule:
"A band/singer is not and will not be able to have his on opinion if they're music sucks. If they're music doesn't suck, then we'll just pretend it does. No one hurst our Sony and gets away with it!"
Rule #549 on the rules of being a cow list.
[QUOTE="WasntAvailable"]Why not do it? :PHis comments on Shadow Complex made me want to bang my head against a desk.
tagyhag
Because it would hurt, and his bizare comments arn't worth me hurting my head. I can't believe someone would completely disregard a game for some trivial reason such as medicore voice acting, and as awesome a game as Shadow Complex. Nintendo games don't even have voice acting, it's truely stunning. Some people are just very close minded gamers...
I guess now I know where he got the inspiration from to come up with the song "everyday is exactly the same". In his case, it's game, not day.
And I'm a HUGE fan of Trents work. Anyhow I was impressed at how he seem to have knowledge and doesn't fall into a "celebrity" category that opens its mouth and just throws out some random words. His points are mostly correct even though I think Nintendo missed a chance this generation and missed the mark with the Wii (quality wise). Sony is bad when it comes to pushing high tech shallow things but to be honest Microsoft is even worse.Gamingcucumber
You got that right, which is why Sony made the Wii... oh wait.
"With Nintendo, there's this kind of aesthetic that they bring to their in-house games that makes them feel like art. Where they aren't trying to be something else, where they have their own place and are just what they are. I've talked with Rob about this, about why that kind of game is cool, has a timelessness to it and isn't trying to be more than what it is. If I were going to make a video game today I would not put in rendered, 3D characters that try to look human. You know, where when they talk their lips are out of sync and have this weird aliased thing going on.
Thunderdrone
I agree with him on this part. Not so much on the rest.
His comments on Shadow Complex made me want to bang my head against a desk.
WasntAvailable
What he said was pretty much right. The character models don't look great. I don't think he was dissing the game (he said it looked cool), just that aspect of it.
I don't really see why he singled out Shadow Complex, though.

I also think NIN are a mediocre - bad band. My favorite bands are Tool, APC, Oomph! (german band) and I also like a lil bit of rammstien... so there.

Except, Shadow of the Collosus and Ico are prolly the two most creative games. To me it just looks like he hates the advancements and constant upgrades, he wants to continue to keep playing Mario in 2D and saving the princess in 2D and fighting Bowser... in 2D, again... and again... again... Everyday is exactly the same.
Who cares, NIN sucks anyways.djsifer01The Downward Spiral proved to be a critical and commercial success. Spin magazine ranked it at number 25 in a list of "100 Greatest Albums, 1985-2005." It also ranked the album number 11 on its list of the "Top 90 Albums of the 90's". Blender named it the 80th Greatest American Album. In 2001, Q magazine selected The Downward Spiral as one of the 50 Heaviest Albums Of All Time.[20] In 2003, the album was ranked number 200 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. How about No
