Ninja Gaiden 2 - Confirmed for X360 ; Unconfirmed for PS3 for at TGS

It has been confirmed by Gamespot Korea that, Ninja Gaiden 2, the sequel to one of the most acclaimed titles on the original Xbox, will be publicly shown to the world for the first time at this years Tokyo Game Show.

This was confirmed by an insider in the Japanese gaming industry. According to the insider, the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed at the moment, but the game will in fact be shown for the Xbox 360 system. He further states that, the game will be shown on the Xbox platform at TGS, because of the relationship with Microsoft and the developers.

However, there is a possibility that, the game will first be released for the Xbox 360 with a PS3 version following shortly. The industry insider also states that, this game is important to Microsoft because, it has potential to increase console sales in Japan.

I think we already knew this was inevitable.I think it'll depend on Ninja Gaiden Sigma's sales to whether or not we'll see it come to the PS3.

I guess Microsoft's plan is to get as many Japanese developers on board as possible. It's not working so far because it's selling like crap in Japan.

Blue Dragon didn't do it, eternal sonata didn't do it, DOA4 didn't do it, this won't either. But, great game and I hope everyone (cows and lemmings) will be able to enjoy it.

Thats pretty good for only being out for little over a month worldwide (2 months in Japan)

I dont think that either NG or Black sold over a million copies.

well no its not the same, but the game may get ported later on, but as of right now its 360 exclusive, itagaki wont touch the PS3

Hell, I have a 360 and a PS3, but I am so used to playing Sigma on the PS3 now that there is no way that I want to get NG2 for the 360. The game feels like it was made for a Playstation console in my opinion. The controls feel far better than the Xbox controls did with the original version of the game.

But, beings that this is Ninja Gaiden 2 we are talking about, and since it is going to be out on the 360 first, I know that I will just go ahead and pick it up for the 360 when it comes out. And then pick it up for the PS3 when it eventually releases, as that is the version I am waiting on. Sigma is proof that the NG2 could be amazing on the PS3.

To me, it just would not make very much sense for TN to release Sigma on the PS3, and then bring out NG2 for the 360 only, lol. That would be a pretty retarded move if you ask me. As there will be far too many Ninja Gaiden fans with PS3's out there because of Sigma who will be expecting a follow-up. I think it is pretty obvious that NG2 will be on the PS3 as well, but when....who knows?

A seperate team -- lead by one of Itagaki's close friends at Tecmo -- worked on Sigma, not Itagaki himself. That same team could work on a PS3 port of Ninja Gaiden 2, say... half-a-year after the Xbox 360 version is released. It really doesn't matter if Itagaki (or Team Ninja for that matter) work only on one console at a time, as the other team can easily do the porting for them. In Sigma's case, just as well.
