This would be bad for lemmings if NG 2 gets an AO rating. If that did happen, then Team Ninja would have to most likely delay the game for several months because hardly any stores would allow an AO game. Getting AO is just bad for business. Here's the source.

RockStar had to delay Manhunt 2 and edit it because it did get an AO rating. This journalist is saying that NG 2 is far more violent and bloody than Manhunt 2. Now, I think if NG 2 does initially get an AO rating, the game will be delayed and edited to get an M rating. So, if AO does happen initially, Team Ninja will take several months to edit the game to make it M. In other words, if it initally gets AO, then the game is NOT going to be released June 3. For some reason, that slipped my mind. That's true. Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony won't allow AO games on their system no matter what. So, if NG 2 does get AO, then Team Ninja HAS TO delay the game to make the edits necessary to ensure an M rating. :?

No, NG2 won't get AO. What exactly would warrant the rating? The excessive gore and hacking off limbs? Big deal, it's been done lots of times and never got more then MA, why would NG2 suddenly get hammered ?

NG2 is over the top fantasy violence against giant monsters. It's not even remotely trying to be realistic or insinuating itself to be so. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about if he thinks there's any chance it'll get an AO rating slapped on it.

...ya, GoW was pretty brutal. It was my first time seeing nudity in a video game. I was surprised it didn't receive an AO rating.

Faceless Ninjas, and demon decapitations aren't enough to warrant an AO rating. This guy really fails at his prediction on a number of aspects.

Yeah, a lot do suck at their jobs. However, this particular journalist has usually been spot on in the past. Not saying that AO will happen, but based on his past predictions, there is great potential for AO. This journalist seems to think NG2 is far more bloody and violent than Manhunt 2. Now, I have to be honest...I haven't watched the videos of NG2. I know I'm buying the game, and don't want to see any videos that will ruin any surprises. So, for all I know, this journalist may be way off in what he is saying about the game.

Keep in mind that the blood and loss of limbs has been included as part of the gameplay and a tactic of how to deal with an enemy in a physical way. ITs not there for excessive purposes only.

The reasons Manhunt got AO were numerous, and had a lot to do with that S & M club in the game that orginally had RL pornography playing on a movie screen in the background (something we didn't hear alot about, right?).

Since when do games with lots of gore get AO? NG2 isn't any gorier than GoW or GeoW...

This is a fantasy game where you mostly fight monsters. You could tear out a monsters' spleen and kick it to the sun and they wouldn't care. The only stuff they care about is human on human violence in a realistic setting. An AO rating for this game would be ridiculous. Gears of War, Dead Rising and alot of other games are more grizzly than NG2. It's so obvious that the guy who said this is gonna be wrong that it makes this thread smell like government style scare tactic anti-MS propaganda.FerdMertz
