Judging by those screensi don't know why you're excited. I'm posting my view on those screens alone.

I'm not expecting Ryu to wield a rocket launcher, i just dont want the same damn game i've played before.

Legend of zelda wind waker for example, gave you a boat to traverse across the seas. then therewas the change in visual aesthetics which made you feel like you were in a cartoon, not expecting this of gaiden, but a change instyle wouldnt hurt.

If the TC had posted somethig in gaiden 2 that created this new and interesting gameplay element (like the boatin wind waker), which would've made the entire thing feel a lot more epic i wouldnt have scurtinized.

No, I can almostguarantee this is the 2nd Ninja Master Tornament. Anyone remember that on the XBox. Just play thourght the game on extreme hard mode with new harder enemies, with the winner decided by whom ever collect the most essence.

And I can't believe you and solidte are seriously arguing this. NG2 is obviously using the same engine as Sigma: one look at those screenshots will tell you that. Ninja Gaiden 2 is gonna be an awesome game, and 360 owners are probably going to get to play it first--can't you be happy with that? I mean, where's the gamer in all of us? One of the most exciting announcements of TGS hits, and all we can do it sit around and bicker about whether or not it looks marginally better or worse than Sigma?

Looks like the took the sigma engine and starting making ninja gaiden 2 with it ^_^ The gore looks pretty neat, ninja gaiden seems likes its a more mature title in the action genre anyway so toning it down would just be an insult to the whole dark ninja demon theme of the world (Ryu's Universe is meant to be pretty brutal). The whole decapition thing bigs back sweet mortal kombat memories ^_^

Ninja Gaiden 2 might come to 360 first--yes, that's an assumption that may or may not be disproved. Why do I think it's true? Because Itagaki has a great relationship with Microsoft and the screenshots surfaced on MS Japan's website. That's not conclusive evidence, but it's pretty good indication, isn't it?

As for assuming that you're a 360 fan, that's not a blind assumption either. In case you haven't noticed, I've been around these parts for a bit. I've seen many people come and many people go. When I see people consistently bashing or defending certain consoles, I get a sense of where they sit on the console divide.

You've probably seen me mostly defend the PS3. I have no problem with that--most people here know me as a cow. There's no shame in console favoritism, as long as it doesn't turn into blind fanboyism. But let's not pretend to be someone we're not.

My bad, perhaps I misconstrued your post.

I personally think that the screens are at least very good indication that Team Ninja is using Sigma's engine for NG2, but if you disagree I respect that. So long as we're not engaged in senseless bickering we can have an honest and mutually respectful disagreement.

I am personally excited to see gameplay footage too, so maybe we will resume this discussion then.

Well, technically, Sigma is based on the Ninja Gaiden engine which is based on the DOAX engine. Anyway, I can't seem to find the link but I could've sworn I read it somewhere. Either way, who cares, Ninja Gaiden is all about the gameplay...I hope this time they can let you switch weapons directly without going into the menu screen; like DMC3.

You can find out when dead or alive code chronos is out, its the prequel to the all dead or alive games when ayame and kasumi were still in there ninja training days in there clan. I'd expect she would use her fighting style from the series like ryu does but adapt it to weapons ^_^

I dunno if i said anything about how they aren't using the same engine, they very well could i just think it is simply to early to pick on a games visuals based on a few screens but i do expect Team Ninja with the power of the X360 are going to push the X360 to the highest or at very least second highest bar. I've seen some pretty ugly screens but the games turn out to look absolutely stunning look at Gears and MGS4. But yes lets resume the discussion......nnnnow. NG2 *drools*, the original is simply one of the greatest action games period, cannot wait to resume 'the way of the ninja'.

Don't know, team ninja is working on a few projects ^_^ DOA5, NG2, DOA:CC, NG:DS and Two More Un-named Projects. They are working on a mega ton of games right now for having only what 80 workers, its extreme to say the least. (There are two teams within team ninj).

NG2 was just announced and all you can do is obsess over whether its graphics exceed Sigma's or not.

Well its not even close to being done Id assume so we will have to wait and see, but the decapitation does seem like a pretty big new thing for the series. NG 2 will have a totally new story where as Sigma had an extended version. Anyway I want to see it in action before I say its just like sigma. Though looking like Sigma wouldnt be bad since it looked pretty nice.
