obviously its not necessary, i was thinking the same, but GTA 4 was a bigger system seller for the 360 than the ps3, which surprised me

System Seller: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Reason: Because the Metal Gear fanbase from the previous generation is larger than the Ninja Gaiden fanbase from the previous generation. If we say Metal Gear Solid 3 is the number of real fans for the game, let's expect a minimum of 3.5 million sales. Not consoles mind you, as some may already be owning a Playstation 3. In contrast, the Ninja Gaiden franchise hasn't had a single game over the platinum mark.

Also to aid Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the software side, there isn't any blockbuster hit on the same level as Metal Gear on the Playstation 3 yet.

theres only been 1 NG game(3D series). MGS is a fully established popular franchise. NG is also much less mainstream-friendly than MGS.

Tough question. I really don't see either one as a "system seller", but since MGS3 sold better than NG, I would have to go with MGS4.

honestly, MGS4 will wipe the floor with NG2 in terms of sales but thats only my opinion.

MGS4 will sell like Gears 1 did .... possibly even more. Nonstop-Madness

I don't think so, but it will be a better game.
