Tecmo and Konami are not the same company.
Also, I'm pretty sure the reason why you'll never see MGS4 on Xbox 360 is because Konami wants to push their POS proprietary online platform with the game, and Microsoft would try to make them use Xbox Live (not saying Metal Gear Online ain't great, but I seriously hate having to go through Konami's service to play it).

It's funny how Sony got one part of the equation right, and the other so wrong. Depending on 1st/2nd party games this gen is best strategy. Starting price of $500 - $600 system is worst strategy. It shows how third party games cant be trusted..and Sony know this from the start thats why they got so many exclusive games...There first party games is unstoppable.

Yep, Sony decimates Microsoft when it comes to first party titles. I think Konami will keel over Why develop a non-tested title when they can put a small team on porting Metal Gear Solid 4 to the 360 for a guaranteed high amount of sales. Historically, the MGS franchise has had very little appeal to non-fans, and there are VERY few (if any) MGS fans who do not own a PS3 and MGS4. Konami's only hope to reap a profit with a 360 MGS4 port would be to try and sell it almost entirely to non-fans, which is a losing proposition. They've tried selling MGS to non-fans before, and it didn't end well. MGSTTS had fair performance, but considering it was one for Gamecube's biggest titles that year, it didn't meet expectations in terms of sales. As for MGS2 on Xbox-- it was a complete disaster. It sold so badly that Konami didn't even bother releasing a bargain bin version under the Platinum hits Label, and instead just took it out of print! There's really no getting around it-- MGS has always sold well on the Playstation family of consoles, and this generation has been no exception. HOWEVER, there has yet to be an MGS title on another console brand that has made any real waves. Even the PC port of MGS wasn't that popular, and it was a much nicer package than its Playstation counterpart (it was a port of MGS Integral, which never came out in the US for PSX). Konami just doesn't have much to gain by porting MGS4, because their biggest and most important customer demographic already has it-- the fans.oh great. lemme guess it's exclusive to PS3? what is wrong with tecmo. either make your games multiplat form or stick to one console. looks like I have to buy a PS3 now. lmao.Great_Ragnarok
Why, it's pratically the same game?
Unless you're a NG fanatic?

thats the thing! I'm an NG fanatic! XD seriously I love this game. I really hope they will bring this game to the PC! this game deserves to be played on a system with a sweeeet graphics card XD but yeah if this is PS3 only I will go mad at tecmo!Sweet! :D
I do hope it's true and not an April Fools joke. I really need to go pick up Sigma since my original X-Box died before I ever beat NGB. I've been meaning to, but going through all of the hard stuff again frightens me. :P

True enough, I sadly am one of the many fans though without a PS3 who played and loved MGS4 many times and would like to actually own a copy Borrowing PS3's to play it, renting PS3's for it, it gets tiring.Tecmo and Konami are not the same company.

[QUOTE="Toriko42"]I just did some research on this and I'm calling this out for being false Ninja Gaiden Sigma was made from a game that was a third party exclusive Ninja Gaiden II however is published by Microsoft Game Studios...Why would they allow for a port to be made?GreenGoblin2099
Ninja Gaiden II published by M$ doesn't mean anything.
With a few tweaks in the content they can say it's a different game, thus SIGMA... Same thing happened with RE4 for the PS2, Capcom added stuff to make it "different".
But a duck is a duck is a duck. Microsoft could still rail Tecmo for breach of contract for publishing what is basically the game in question with additional bells and whistles on an outside platform. That is, of course, unless the exclusivity agreement specifically allows for this scenario. Does Microsoft publish NG2 outside of North America or does Tecmo? If this article is genuine, perhaps NGS2 will be Japan-only.[QUOTE="Toriko42"]I just did some research on this and I'm calling this out for being false Ninja Gaiden Sigma was made from a game that was a third party exclusive Ninja Gaiden II however is published by Microsoft Game Studios...Why would they allow for a port to be made?Couth_Even if M$ published it they do not own the IP. It all depends on the terms of the publishing. You can't state the standard aspects of a publishing deal when they all differ by contract.
If Microsoft funded game development, they may have some stake in NG2 specifically, (not the franchise). If thats the case, Tecmo may not be able to straight port it to PS3. They would have to remake it with some changes and call it Sigma II.

If thats fake then thats one great fake scan.
Great news!! Now PS3 owners will be able to enjoy NG2. Not as good as the older NG games, but still worth having. VIOLENCE = FTW! :D
Oh, if they could just fix the game a bit. The frame rate, slightly enhanced graphics, less projectile spamming and if possible - more levels that are'nt so generic. I sometimes wish they could take the violence of this game and slap it on the original NG and NGB on the XBOX. But hardware...
sigh.
If you look at the facts closely, it isn't really that surprising that this has been announced. I've expected it since Itagaki left Tecmo. It also proves the point that unless the company physically owns the IP, anything could happen to it. Now everyone's attention heads towards Mass Effect and even Gears of War.
Check this out. Its Wikipedia, but just check the bottom of the page.
Pretty cool info. Yes, I know its Wikipedia dammit!!!
Here more info! (from Kotaku) Ayane is a playable character.

Kotaku confirms it. More content, PSN support and Ayane as playable character. But if it is a joke, its gonna be a very disappointing one too lol

I'm guessing the PSN support would be leaderboards or similar, but, but, but, if they added a co-op, and/or a versus mode then i would probably die of a heart attack. :DFinally cows can rightfully acknowledge Ninga gaiden as the better action game that it is.bygelay off the booze...everyone knows GoW is the best action game on the market :D

This is an exclusive I'm actually glad the 360 lost. :P I no longer have my 360 and this just gives me one less reason not to blow my money on another one. :D

Exactly. Kratos meet Ryu. Again.

This makes me want to try Sigma , but I'm scared it is too much for me. I heard only 5% of the people who played NG/NG Sigma actually go on to beat it. The ones who getpretty farand don't finish end up in a straight jacket and a padded cell somewhere.
finalfantasy94
The game is hard....very hard. You will curse at your screen and almost break your controllers. I wanted to throw mine out the dam window. I did eventualy beat sigma and teabaged my tv in victory and screamed "HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!!!". NG2 is a push over compared to the hell sigma put me through.
Let me guess, you are refering to acolyte or warrior mode right?
