Thinking of getting a new Yamakazi 27'' 2560x1440p gaming monitor for my gtx 690 i5 3570k 16gb gaming pc or a Nintendo 3DS and the monitor for Xmas/Birthday for myself. What do you guys suggest for now? I do all my gaming on pc right now and am not interested in next-gen exclusives at the moment.

The 3DS has two monitors which is better than just one monitor, so I suggest that.

You've answered your own question. If you're playing 1080p/60fps on a 690, you're doing something wrong. Need to be level 10 to post here, though.

If I may make a suggestion. If you have the budget I do recommend the Dell U2713hm (they are 1440p monitors too). I have 2 of these on my pc, absolute beauties.

Nah I don't have $700 to spend on a monitor at the moment trying to stay within the 300-500$ amount.

I just want a true 1440p monitor, I don't need to overclock the refresh rate honestly, I just want a good deal on one and it'll be reliable and work good.

Nah that thing isn't good because it's 2560x1080p not even 1440p dude sorry. I need a 2560x1440p resolution. The Yamakazi Catleaps or Crossover or QNIX I hear are great I hear.

Because it'll look much better then just stretched 1080p on a 27'' or 29'' monitor that I want, and more proportionate, better colors and quality as well. I have a decent 24'' 60hz led monitor now. I want a bigger surface screen area, better quality for my GTX 690 dude honestly, I have the hardware for it.

If you are thinking about image quality, look at Dell. Yes you have to pay more but you can find some great fire sales on the 27in monitors.

Yeah I hear you but I don't want to pay extra for a dell for the same thing. I can get a QNix or a Crossover or even a Yamakazi 27'' 1440p monitor for a good price through a very reliable seller on eBay or even Newegg.

Well, the problem with those panels is that the companies that make them buy all the panels that the larger companies don't use and there is no way to gauge if you are getting a good quality panel before you buy one. You may get lucky and I know many people have when buying these monitors, I've also seen others that are shockingly bad.

Tough call, man. I'm tempted to say that you should buy the monitor first. But the difference is you already have the monitor and a pc. But you don't have a 3DS at all. So...just sayin'.
