So Nintendo releases like 3 decent (1 very good) game(s) after, what, 2 freaking years of literally NOTHING, and suddenly they are propelled to the top?
Yeah, I don't think so. Like it or not, the Xbox still has a large install base and a steady stream of 1st and 3rd party games (even if their 1st party games often flop). This is something the Wii U did not have. This is something that remains to be seen in the Switch. Frankly I'd be a little worried about 3rd party support for Switch with the PS4 Pro out and Scorpio looming. Sure, it's selling good now, but can it keep it up? Will it ever get the support it needs to avoid another Wii U scenario? It's only been out a few weeks.
Their inability to get compelling content on the Xbox that sets it apart from the competition is astounding- it's WiiU levels of bad, with 3rd party games and Forza being the only saving graces. Even if the games run worse, atleast you can say it has games like Dark Souls 3 and Doom. But still, it's amazing how much people defend it.
Wii U had far better exclusives than the xbox one.
Wii U's exclusives wasn't able to boost it's install base on par with the original Xbox.
Allow me to provide this thread with some much needed reality.
Nintendo has released two consoles in the last 4 1/2 years, both of which cumulatively only make up half of the amount of Xbox One's sold in 3 1/2 years.

Why would the Wii be included in a thread that is discussing the present tense of supposedly taking Microsofts place? Also, even if you add in the Wii AND GameCube which doesn't make any logical sense Microsoft would essentially be ahead of Nintendo still with an entire console less released than them.
For relevant timelines being the 8th and now 9th generation of Nintendo, Microsoft is up by 15 million with a year less of market time and with a single system, Nintendo has a year lead and two console releases.
What M$ used to excel in on the system wars was their online multiplayer capability. I believe online capability is quite even at this age (other than Nintendo) and M$ is losing out because of it's arrogance.
I feel sorry for the people buying the Day One edition....it's like a huge middle finger to consumers as day one edition along w/ the kinect is almost useless.
Nintendo is nice but they really have production issues. Nintendo Classic was a great idea but as a company they really mismanaged the production which makes many consumers very angry and hard to find item. Let's hope they will do it right w/ the SNES classic.
Agreed but the Scorpio has a lot of people excited. With that hardware jump and a few new titles besides Halo and Forza they might be able to regain some level of relevance lol

That literally mean's Sony 80 million PS3 sold is bullshit ( this includes PS2 sales too) And, 2012 is only when they reported the change to it's investors and shareholder's.
Microsoft numbers last gen are 360 only.
Microsoft beat Sony last gen, face up to it facts matter.
