Sony, and Nintendo are pushing hardware. MS is pushing software. Sony & Nintendy only really care for their own software while MS is looking to expand the whole game software industry. This is why nintendo and sony don't buy exclusivity contracts, and MS is willing to help out game studios other than their own.jrhawk42

That has got to be the biggest laugh i've ever seen or heard of, M$ is no better with them trying to seel hardware also, don't forget that everything you buy from m$ gotta buy the attachment to! And M$ is just as guilty as Sony and Nintendo!

I have to agree. 360 has no Wi-Fi, and apart from having a good online service and some good features, not much is there. With the ps3 you can charge your controller by hooking it up to the system, and you can lug in multiple multimedia cards, and it has motion tilt. The Wii has motion sensoring as well, and Ninty is trying to improve their third party support with Wiiware.

I always thought that one of the main goals for MS was to have a presence in the future living room as media center marketplace that is already worth a ton of money and will not slow down anytime soon.

On a business level, Any piece of 360 software that is sold MS gets a piece of the pie, as thats what it takes to get licensed to be on the Xbox 360. Thats mainly how console companies make their big bucks ... software sales.

so i went here

to see how much was 22.6 billion yen in US dollars

here is the result:

22.600.000.000 yen aparently its: 214.563.752

in other words nintendo had a profit of 214 million dollars on an Q where its profits DOUBLED, and lets not forget that the dollar has weakened over the past 2 years, so in truth their profits were smaller then the number i came up with and it still does not surpass the 360´s profit since Q3 last year of 780 million profit

780 million/ 3 = 260 million

so care to explain this to me?

1. Seriously, The Xbox 360 has been a step back ever since it came out.
2. Second is, what is new about it? The PS3 has Blu-Ray and The Wii it's motion sensing controller, but what about the 360? Nothing....
3. I honestly do not get what they are trying to accomplish on a business level, they have hardly made any money and the future looks very bad for them. Sure software sells but what about hardware? What is MS gaining? Nothing..... Only third party developers are gaining anything
4. So, what is exactly is their goal? because if it is money, they have certainly failed since day one.

1. Really because XBL is still improving and is the at the fore front of console online gaming not to mention that it has had much better software then the xbox.
2. What about 360? Again look at XBL. Something the PSN and Nintendo Wifi cannot match yet.
3. They are trying to make money which they are making money now. Selling software makes them money. Thinking that only 3rd Parties make money off of software sales is ignorant. Ever here of royalty fees man?
4. There goal is to make money and thats what they are doing.
