I'm not a very big Uncharted fan. Good game but I don't think Naughty Dog should be milking that series either, espeically since it's their worse series.

Eponique
It's worse than Mario. There's a 3 month gap between Uncharted 3 and Uncharted Vita, and then 7-8 months later you're going to get Uncharted 4. That's 3 core Uncharted games in a year. You won't see cows complaining though. We still don't even know if NSMB is 2012 yet.

get back to me when Naught Dog has been milking it for 25 years. until then its not even in the same realm of milkage. "oh ND releases an Uncharted sequel every 2 years, give it a rest Naughty Dog we just had one 2 years ago".

You're full of $h*+. 3 Uncharted games in a year? There's been 3 PS3 Uncharted games in the entire lifespan of the system. They aren't skimpy releases, either--they have the production values of a first party Nintendo game. People should actually have higher expectations. Perhaps Nintendo has fallen behind the times afterall.

Heirren
Dayum, there be some butthurt over the truth :o Face it, Uncharted released in November. Uncharted Vita is releaseg only 3 months later. But for whatever reason, it's bad for Nintendo to release two different genre Mario games (one of which, is an entirely new genre) 1.5 years apart.

I really like all the Nintendo games, but it really feels like we're getting port after port.

-Mario Kart 7

-Starfox

-Zelda

-Mario Land

-New Super Mario

-Mario Tennis

-Paper Mario

***Up Next***

-Advance Wars

-Mario Golf

I, for one, welcome this.

Good Platformers have increasingly been a dying genre since the start of the current era.

Target late 2012 or 2013 release doesn't sound too early to me. I like your thoughts though, that sounds good.

Stevo_the_gamer

Hm, Winter 2012, Spring 2013 would be good actually.

Argh, Mario again :x

Why not make a new 2D Metroid instead with awesome hand-drawn graphics and multilayered backgrounds taking full advantage of the 3D. How cool would that be huh.

laus_basic

Maybe that's coming? :o.

It is the other way around. You just can't seem to admit it, or simply can't see it. Vita is a portable. It MAKES SENSE TO DO THAT--releasing the ps3s most popular franchise to the portable. If only Nintendo would think the same way in having a killer app at launch.

Excuses. If Mario Galaxy 3 came out for Wii in November, and Mario Galaxy 3D for 3DS in February, you all would've said the same thing. It's cow hypocrisy that I know all too well ;)

to be honest I'd much rather have them working on 3d land 2.

Imagine if they brought back the cape and yoshi. But if this game actually has online co-op I'll be interested

Nope. I'd be happy. Mario Galaxy is an excellently produced game. My original point was that NSMB is just rehash, in that it came out for the ds, got upscaled for wii, and now they are just designing new levels for the 3DS. I own a 3DS, Nintendo is my favorite game designer, but that doesn't mean I can't be critical of them. A lot of the stuff that has come out has been sheer laziness.

Makes no sense. Milking is milking. Sony can make cows pay for $500 Vitas, but it seems Nintendo is always the bad guy because they've been in the VG industry for 30 years. No wonder I fail at cow logic class.

Not particularly surprising. Somewhat early in my opinion though, but I do like me some Mario. I enjoyed Mario 3D Land quite a bit on my brother's 3DS, so if he buys this too as well it works for me. :P

I also find it amusing how badly sheep and lemmings and/or cows are going at it in this thread. Both sides are awful, but please keep arguing.

I've already said that I'm a nintendo fan. I think they are the best game designers in the world. However, even as you said stating "...all new levels," Nintendo has been doing just that--taking already established game design and just putting it on every platform that comes out, with little innovation. I think NSMBwii is great, but I've played it already. Give me something NEW!

And perhaps it won't be NSMB. I actually think it won't be, as evident by Miyamotos recent statement regarding letting new talent arise out of the company. So really, it seems their premier game designer agrees with me.

But you said yourself you would be okay with Mario Galaxy 3. You wouldn't feel that Nintendo is rehashing again by reusing the Galaxy concept? Sounds less original than another 2D Mario (not even confirmed to be "NSMB").

2D sidescrolling Mario game. Has to be NSMB.

...No, it really doesn't.

That's a likely outcome, but you're treating it as fact when there's zero confirmation.

I just copied GAF's thread title for this one. In any case, new 2D Mario Game Announced for 3DS... I mean, if you want, I *could* change it to that...

considering everything NSMB sells 10m+ units, it's not surprising.

Meh, Nintendo milks Mario, Activision milks COD. That milking must be delicious if its bringing in tons of profits. So to milk or not to milk...that is the question

I personally think it's too early and a wasted card. They still have Pokemon Grey that could come out this year.

So does that mean no NSMB Mii for Wii U? I thought Wii U would launch with Mario, for the first time in a long time. Considering NSMB stands for multiplayer now, it makes more sense for Wii U and 3DS just had a mainline Mario game...

All of Nintendo's teets are all dried up now. They have 2 left. The Mario teet and the N64 remake teet. So sad.

I think this has gradually become more and more accepted now, everyone is bound to be a fan of an 'annualized' franchise at this point, so to complain about milking would make them look like hypocrites.

What if New SMB Mii is a simultaneous release on Wii U and 3DS, with some kind of cross platform connectivity?
