Nintendo Confirms Nintendo NX Launching Worldwide In March 2017, No NX At E3

A March launch is not the problem- the problem now is, what does Nintendo have for the rest of this year?

They would have at least shown something or revealed the real name of the NX by now if it was going to release in 2016.I'm not really shocked.They are going to take their sweet time announcing the NX.

They are probably going to announce the NX like half a year before it releases most likely if the March 2017 date doesn't change so they can probably get the messaging of the NX right and have concrete launch plans for it instead of what happened with the WiiU. It's probably going to be announced sometime between E3 and December 31,2016 unless they are referring to the NX not being playable at E3.

The NX is not going to sell well if its released in March after everyone already spent $$$ during the holiday season.

Nintendo is seriously one of the most insane companies I've ever known.

March launches are not unprecedented, and have traditionally done very well for Nintendo. The problem is not that Nintendo are launching the NX in March, the problem is that that leaves them with absolutely nothing for the rest of the year, especially now that Zelda is delayed too.

Nintendo is fucking stupid.

So, it must be a handheld then. After the Wii U flop Nintendo might have decided to back out of the dedicated home console business.

That's one hell of a leap.

Given Zelda is coming to it, and has presumably been delayed to be on it too, and that handhelds are a contracting market, and Nintendo themselves are moving out of them to put their premier games on smartphones, no- the NX is a home console, whatever else it is. Nintendo are just releasing it in March, because presumably, it's not ready to go yet, and they don't want to rush it.

Then the NX needs to be cheap as hell releasing just a few months after the Holiday season. People have a limited amount of disposable income and after all the Holiday shopping its gonna be a tough sell.

That's for Nintendo to worry about.

I am more worried about what the NX will be, whether it will actually be a product worth buying, and what kinds of games it will have. Given the delays, it does sound like Nintendo are at least taking their time with the thing, so that's encouraging.

I guess this at least confirms that it is a new console.

No E3? At all?? What is their fear? That is the perfect opportunity to show it. No, instead we're undoubtedly going to see it in some boring Direct probably only a few months before release.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have more than a Direct. They want to control their messaging completely and are probably afraid of live audiences now.

They expect to sell 800,000 Wii Us for this entire year.

Like I'm really excited for the NX but if all they're going to give me is a release date and speculation that there will be games I can't support that.

This is really bad news for sony and microsoft.

Remember what happened last time Nintendo put out the Wii with Zelda. 4 Player couch Co Op games like Smash. Free online perfect for american couch gamers.. Sony is charging 50 per month to play online, they don't have any 4 player couch co-op games and I don't think the console supports 4 controllers going into it like the Wii did.

PS4 and XB1 are in trouble you can't play couch co-op on them they are pretty archaic compared to the Wii and N64.

Sony and Microsoft forgot about those fun family/friend couch co-op american gamers this gen.

These people did 4 player smash brawl, 4 player new super mario, they were doing 4 player mario party trust me saw this stuff go down. I was taking over the console to play zelda and mario galaxy and kicked them off it.

When you see the PS4/XB1 missing features compared to Wii you know you're in trouble with real gamers online play should be free 4 player couch co-op shoulda been staple. exclusives should exist.
