Nintendo did not excel in any field this gen in games(Bash-free)

I am just wondering this. This gen has been Nintendos weakest of all gens so far with maybe 2 exceptions, but let's look at the big picture on Gamespot:

They did not excel in quality FP or FPS type games. They did not excel in shooting games.

They did not excel in platformers, scores down to console 7.5:

There are some good games onit, but the system is beyond hopeless, please understand that all you are doing is encouraging Nintendo to continue in this direction with the Wii U. So it is okay to put the games from 2 consoles up against 1? That's fair? Galaxy 1 and 2>>>>>>>>any other platformer on any other console. LBP has awesome user created stuff, but the mechanics of the game are awful imo. I don't think the Wii had the best library by any means, but it was in no way bad. I didn't play it much at all for most of this gen, but I just noticed that there are a ton of games for it I want to play that didn't get around to because I was busy focusing on the HD twins.

I persoanlly think MS and Nintendo accomplished what they wanted to this gen with games and sales, Sony I think failed huge. Anyone who thinks Sony wanted to go from a huge 1st place lead to last place in a single generation is fooling themselves. Yes the games are good, but they aren't what people want right now I guess because most of them just don't sell regardless of their score.

A generation from now, people will look at the Wii just like how people now look at the Saturn (it's reputation in the 5th gen was worse even). A underrated gem, burried deep this generation because of its sh*tty reputation due to its inferior hardware and lack of support from 3rd party developers.

Base of my conclusion? Reputation fades away with age, people are going to start digging once its clear.

You say they don't have anywere to dig? Well unlike popular belief, it has more exclusives than either of the other two consoles, most of which don't get any attention. People seem to go with the flow and just assume it doesn't.

The super mario galaxy games and DKCR were FAR better than any platformers I've played on the other systems. Only Rayman Origins comes close and that was on the wii anyways.

While I'll be the first to admit the Wii's weaknesses with certain genres, one thing that bothers me is that you're comparing one system against two systems. Had this been a Wii vs 360 vs PS3 thread, I might have supported the argument a bit more. But it seems like your comparing a single system to two systems that both have their own exclusives and multiplats. Also, you did not take into account any Wiiware games in your argument while including downloadable games on both PSN and Xbox Live. I understand many Wiiware games don't get reviewed on here, but there are several games such as Contra Rebirth, Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth, Cave Story, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, and several other games that have scored well on Metacritic.

Which bring me to my final point. This list would have been much better and your argument more valid had you used Metacritic. Because Gamespot does not bother to review many Wii game(and I'm not talking about garbage games either), your list is already somewhat unfair to the Wii. And if were gonna talk about downloadable games, there's Virtual Console.

And that Garfield game you've mentioned (would have ben nice to give a link) is only on the PC (in Russia) and Wii, i was talking about the exclusive count between the three consoles.

I don't really care. As long as they keep producing best-of-the-gen calibur games like the Super Mario Galaxy's and Skyward Sword on top of their array of other excellent first party games, I'm pleased.

Had this been a Wii vs 360 vs PS3 thread, I might have supported the argument a bit more. But it seems like your comparing a single system to two systems that both have their own exclusives and multiplats. Also, you did not take into account any Wiiware games in your argument while including downloadable games on both PSN and Xbox Live. I'm just saying that Nintendo should be given the same fairness. If PSN and Xbox Live games can ount, then why not Wiiware games? There are some good ones out there.
