You guys say nintendo needs to crack down on third parties and shovleware... I'd like to know how you intend they do that? If nintendo starts telling third parites what they can and can't make or start refusing products based off their opinion of what's fun or good, then no one will make any games fro nintendo platforms.

But how is it that other consoles don't have the shovelware problem...? Obviously the other two companies are doing something Nintendo aren't.

nintendo made good games.........back in the early 90's:P

FANBOY ALERT

I was just about to say that. But yeah, he's right. And Microsoft has standards on their games. I don't feel like looking it up right now, but there are certain requirements games have to meet.

ok so i'll give you my theory.

They sell TONS of shovelware because the AVERAGE owner of a wii is a casual gamer (or non-gamer) that just buys wii games off the endcaps at Walmart or Target. they then get sick of the lame game and go back to wii-sports...... When I walk into those stores and i see displays near the registers selling that garbage $19.99 brand new Wii games....... Honestly I think Nintendo is really slapping their true fans in the face by allowing their name to be stamped on these garbage games. They invented the nintendo quality seal back in the day but what happened? (NES and SNES have a lot of good games and few garbage games really). Management at nintendo must really not care about the average quality of their games.....

The seal never had anything to do with quality. Not once, ever.

The difference now is audiance. Games like carnival games and deca sports would not have sold on the SNES and they won't sell on the 360 or PS3. MS and Sony don't have some great quality control thing going on, it's that shovelware on their systems is way to expensive and the market is not there for them...it is on the Wii, DS, and iPhone though.

There are bad shovleware games on the PS3 and 360 too, they are just rarer becuase of the above reason and for people like you and me instead of mom, dad, and sis. (Bomberman act zero, gun, haze, kane and lynch, sonic 06...)

For every person that uses "Wii Sports" and "WiiFit" as some sort of argument, you owe me a dollar. I'm calling it.

vdastampede

Uh, what exactly are you calling?

I agree but I have t admit that Mario football or however it was called seemed like an unfinished game (it was the first online wii game to hit europe).

I'm on the 360 wagon right now, but I was, and willing to be in the future, a real nintendo fanboy :D
