i'd like to see new IP's, or IP's that haven't been used in a very long time by nintendo.
like Star Fox, Kid Icarus on the WiiU would be interesting.
I do not expect this though.
I expect, some Luigi stuff since it's his anniversary year. Yoshi Island game will get more talk, Super Smash Brothers for WiiU, maybe 2 2D Mario games, Zelda on 3DS, and maybe talk of a Zelda/Mario proper game on WiiU.
i'd like to be proven wrong. but it seems Nintendo is worse then Call of Duty in that they just keep pulling out the same thing again and again.

They have been doing that for some time now (reviving old IPs / going back to oldschool gameplay within alive IPs / new IPs and "sort of new IPs ")
... Did you play these games ? On Wii U we have Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land and Kamiya's The Wonderful 101. On 3DS we are getting a new Yoshi's Island game.
It's just easier to say "I want a Star Fox game on Wii U, and Kid Icarus on 3DS is neat, but I want a Wii U game". Don't come with the bs that Nintendo only rehashes, there are a ton of games that fit your criteria but you don't care about them. Your argument is rehashed, not Nintendo's output.
well.....looks like now is the time to get a wii ustereointegrityyou'll get a wii u now because some fanart of the previous ssb game was uploaded somewhere, for a game that everyone knows it's gonna come sometime to the console? sounds like the type of consumers nintendo likes to prey on
[QUOTE="SuperFlakeman"]/QUOTE] Defensive I see.
Look i'm speaking how i see it. Everytime i hear a Nintendo Direct or a Nintendo Conference the thing i see that gets pulled out for show is Mario or talk of Zelda. Wii went an entire generation with just 1 proper Zelda game and you had to wait till the end of the generation for it.
and i do play the Wii. liked DKC 4, Xenoblade, Punch-Out. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and Legend of Zelda.
My point is, what new thing for the core audience has Nintendo ADDED since then that they really seriously put effort into?. Don't tell me Wii Sports (seriously, a glorified motion control demo is a big deal for you? ok.).
The Wonderful 101 is about the only exclusive on the WiiU that i'm looking forward to, but it is not Nintendo. and i'm speaking about frickin' Nintendo inhouse,
and yes. what do I care about. for fvck sake, it's my money and time, if they're putting all their effort into Rythem Heaven and Wii Sports U damn right i'm not gonna care or even notice it.
When i play PS3, do i notice the latest version of Sing It or Wonderbook? No. But I DO notice when during the PS3 Sony 's showing off like inFamous for the first time. that's a sign of desperation "but but but! we got this too! you just don't like it!" so yeah. I got well over a 100 games (discs, digital, and PSone games) on the PS3, only because the games are there, I got a fraction of that (15 to be exact) on my Wii. the software isn't there. :| and i'm pretty open to different types of games, but it just has to have some substance.
I do view as someone who has been playing Nintendo since the NES days, see the modern day Nintendo as largely a developer that is rehashing like mad, and riding on the nastalgia of their hey-day from the 90's. That has been a feeling that has been reflected by every one of my gamer friends, even those who were die-hard Wii apologists during this console cycle. Maybe what would get the core excited for Nintendo again isn't the promise of a new Zelda or a Super Smash Brothers, but rather to do what they did before. Bring something new from the table that'll be part of their large cast of characters and IP's. This by the way is a little bit similar why some people were irked by Xbox One's showing of Fifa and Call of Duty - sure these are the biggest genres for Xbox, but here's the thing we already KNEW that was coming, what new thing that'll fire up the core audience? and for that we'll have to wait till E3 to see.
Look, there is a thing called the Law of Diminishing Returns. everything goes through it in a capitalist environment. and that's what i see what's slowing down Nintendo right now, even amongst the core gamers on the internet, with the exception of die hard Nintendo fanboys, there really isn't any excitement like you saw even within the year of the Wii's existence.
Even Disney has a thing called the Disney Vault, where they put old movies away for a while, long enough for you to miss it. and still trying to add something new to their large cast of characters and IP. That's what i see Nintendo (inhouse Nintendo) largely failing to do.
if you loved all those games you listed, then that's fantastic for you. doesn't change my point that the perception i have and many others do is that Nintendo - inhouse Nintendo - is largely rolling on the laurels of it's SNES days and hoping a casual audience will come and rescue it like it did with the Wii.
The bottom line is you simply don't like the kind of gaming Nintendo provides.
In your case you are saying "Nintendo doesn't make new IPs" which is a false statement and it actually means "they don't make new IPs that I like."

This is an entirely different argument.
First you stated that you want to see revival of old IPs and new IPs from Nintendo. I listed a ton of them thus proving your statement false.
Then you say "it has to be in house". Then I say Wii Sports, Nintendogs, Brain Age.
Then you reply "it has to be AAA franchise, not casual stuff"
All you do is move goalposts. What you really mean, and want, is something very specific: a big budget new IP from the Zelda/Mario teams. This is what you should say instead of false statements.

I was specifically talking in my original post about Nintendo and new IP's or bringing back an old one that has been basically forgotten for a long time (i was ecstatic when Kid Icarus made his return on the 3DS). your response was writing down a long list of exclusives that were not all done by Nintendo inhouse but rather exclusive to their hardware. In my response i clarified Nintendo inhouse. If your thinking is that i didn't make myself clear, then fine I apologize, but i thought this was talking about Nintendo, not anyone who puts an exclusive on their platform. so yeah, i'd like to see something big budget done from Nintendo that isn't a retread of a - what i'd argue - tired and worn franchise and do something new. Notice in my original post (that has not been edited mind you), I made no mention about third party or 2nd party exclusives on Nintendo platforms but rather the IP's that come directly from the house of Nintendo. It's not that i'm not aware that there are other games like Xenoblade or Last Story, or that i'm suddenly changing the goal posts. I thought i was being pretty spot on. but evidently i was not.were not all done by Nintendo inhouse but rather exclusive to their hardware. SaudiFury
Lol.
Those are Nintendo 1st party developed games.
I wasn't talking about the Bayonetta 2 / Sonic: Lost Word / Zombi U tier of games that are 3rd party developed exclusives.
I listed Wonderful 101, that's a Nintendo owned IP, but a 3rd party developer made it. It's sort of in a middle-ground. It's a semi-Nintendo game.
But yeah you want a new IP or StarFox from the Zelda/Mario teams.
I get it now. It's easier if you just say this.
My stance is that Super Mario Galaxy is in every sense of the word a "new IP". The fact that it's Mario you control is irrelevant, that's just a model swap and boom you've got a new IP.
So no, I want their best teams to work on Mario and Zelda games. If they took a break once and made a new IP it's fine, but not very giving. We would get one great game instead of another great game. Who I'm controlling and the story doesn't matter.
I wouldn't mind it if they gave Marth and Lucina the same slot.
Just have her be a Costume change for Marth.
So do you guys think Olimar will return in the next smash bros or do you think he'll be replaced by Alph?
Outside of the NSMB series none of nintendo's series even reach the same kevels of rehashing that activision does with call of duty :|i'd like to see new IP's, or IP's that haven't been used in a very long time by nintendo.

I'd prefer a 2D donkey kong personally. It's insanely rare that a 3D platformer is better designed than a 2d platformer. I firmly believe that the Mario Galaxy team could learn a few things from the new super mario team. The Mario Galaxys are super creative and imaginative, but they lack the tight and clever level designs of New Super Mario Bros. games including any secrets worth a damn
