Nintendo Direct November 12th Disussion Thread

Take it with a grain of salt! (Sorry if already posted)

Every since Iwata’s regrettable passing Nintendo fans have been eager to learn of the series Iwata created aimed to connect with the Nintendo community and its future as Kimishima leads the company into the future. Nintendo has confirmed the series will move on based on official job listings for the online streaming presentations themselves (now closed), and the next Nintendo Direct could be the biggest most important display in the series history since its first in 2011. Taken with a grain of salt of course are the curious details now emerging sourced from the forums of 4chan (details listed below):

• Smash ballot results, 6 characters 3 available after the direct
• More Wii eshop titles and virtual console games announced with discounts leading up to Christmas!
• Twilight Princess HD is announced and will release in February as part of the 30th anniversary of Zelda
  Zelda Wii U gets an official title but no gameplay is shown
• Pikmin 4 is announced and will release sometime in Spring 2016
• Star Fox Zero gets a new trailer and releases on February 26th!
• New remaster series for 2016 announced for Wii U and 3DS including Super Mario Sunshine HD and F-Zero X 3D
• Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer and demo after the direct w/pre-load
• Details on Nintendo Account, Miitomo, and My Nintendo
• Details on Super Mario Maker DLC
• Fire Emblem Fatees trailer and release date of March 25th
• Mario and Luigi Paper Jam trailer and release date
• Hyrule Warriors Legends trailer and release date of April 22nd
• Short tribute for Iwata is shown
• Direct concludes with Splatoon DLC and new game modes.

I want to believe.

This sounds like the perfect thing for Nintendo to do.

Which is why I believe with all my heart that it will not happen.

But could you imagine if...just if.

I'll be too busy with Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fallout 4, and XBO's X360 BC than to waste my time with that nonsense. They really couldn't have picked a worse day to want to do that. Even cows will have to juggle Fallout 4 and damage controlling Rise of the Tomb Raider hype to take notice.

Needs more Metroid.

I'm still angry they didn't do anything for it's 25th anniversary.

They couldn't even release Zero Mission on the Wii U eShop's GBA VC, Japan and Europe already got it but I think they're gonna completely forget about the North American market.

Maybe they thought people were a little too sour after Other M. I liked it anyways, sure it had it's problems but it was still very enjoyable even if a bit silly. That was totally Sakamoto's fault. Team Ninja I must say did a damn fine job, even without that narcissistic rock star at the helm.

I think its fake, Nintendo President Kimishima said they would be announcing some unannounced games for Wii U and 3DS. Although these games will most likely be eShop games, he did say they would come for the holidays. Also i expect Ryu Smash Amiibo to be announced also for the holidays.

They're going to celebrate Zelda with the worst Zelda game ever made?

I *loved* Other M.

It was Fusion in 3D with some badass gameplay that made me feel like Samus rather than Master Chief (nothing against the Prime games, but Samus has super-human level speed and agility).

I'm one of the few that even enjoyed the story and characterization of all of them, Samus and Adam included.

Not buying into the hype..just wait and see..sounds too good. :P

All that sounds great. Still wondering if Nintendo will fix the wiiu eshop n64 lag. Mario Sunshine HD? Oh fck yeah. Second only to Mario 64 but boy is that game criminally overlooked.

It's literally insane to try and predict Nintendo. They might throw puppies and marshmallows at us, they might spit in our face and call us queers. No way to know ahead of time.

It doesn't say anything about Amiibo Festival and Federation Force.

That would actually be a step in the right direction, I never played Mario Sunshine this would be amazing if its true. I'm not going to hype myself up for a disappointment though. Too good to be true.

What if Mario Sunshine HD and Twilight Princess HD recieve massive overhauls(think wiiu zelda tech demo) and are offered as free downloads, and then Nintendo announces that development of the new zelda title has moved completely to NX?

ITT: People will get their hearts smashed and broken into tiny bits :P

Have there ever been legit Nintendo leaks?
I guess Ryu was leaked. They are pretty good at preventing leaks.

Consider me sceptical. :\ When something leaks, you generally go ahead anyway. Not going ahead does more harm than good.

This all actually sounds very realistic/likely.

Don't believe this supposed leak but as far as these things go it's at least completely reasonable other then the Sunshine and F-Zero thing. No.

No matter what I don't think Nintendo is going to be speak about Federation Force again until it's almost complete and polished. They screwed up its initial reveal massively and how they handled it is what lead to the huge backlash at and after E3. They have one more chance to reintroduce that game and they're likely not going to until they're ready and feel confident it's going to be received well. That game lives or dies when it comes to its next preview.

Man if they announce Mario Sunshine HD I think that'd be enough for me to take the plunge and buy a Wii U.

Every time chatter arises concerning updated Zelda games, I'm prompted to get back to finishing WW HD. Really should do it.

Doesn't really sound too crazy, although the Sunshine and F-zero ports have my eyebrows raised.

I'm 99% sure Twilight princess HD is a thing, which i'm excited for.

Have you played the original version of TP? Its great but the bosses are a little bit easy.

@GameboyTroy: I have indeed. I like it a lot, it's got nice atmosphere and the dungeon design is very consistent. And yeah, the bosses are easy but that's a trend in the Zelda series :P A visual overhaul could do wonders for it.

My pet peeve with that game was that it felt compelled to tell me a blue rupee was worth 5 every time I picked one up, so I really hope they fix that.

Oh, please. Has a Nintendo Direct rumor ever come true? Was it not a month ago where there were claims of a Direct within the (then) next two weeks?

We're all desperate for a Nintendo Direct, but we're only going to make ourselves more frustrated by buying into these fake leaks.

Super Metroid: Expansion HD (Super Metroid with new accessible areas, new powerups and suits and new enemies) would make me giddy with glee. Also a new online Kirby's Dream Course and Uniracers would make me preorder.

Unfortunately none of those will happen which really womps

But in all seriousness, actually looking at the source really doesn't give me any confidence. The site itself, which is what you make of it, got its source from a 4chan thread. Now has a mysterious 4chan leak been right before? Sure. Doesn't mean I'm gonna trust it anytime it happens.

EDIT: Granted, Twilight Princess HD and three new Smash characters would be absolutely wonderful. TPHD would be day 1!

As far as I go the last few Directs have showed their lack of commitment to the WiiU in general.

They should be hyping about the NX. Anything else is just a waste of time
