What you are saying is just that Nintendo's idea for the Switch isn't as good as the idea of the Wii. Either way, the Switch is still in the same lineage as the Wii. You've said it doesn't have the same processors or AAA games as the ps4 and xbone, and that's why it isn't a home console, but then according to you the Wii wasn't a home console either.

1. In terms of bringing in gamers outside Nintendo's core fan base, yes the Wii was superior in that regard.

2. It can be used as a home console, but its primarly function is obviously to be a portable unit, hence why the guts are inside the tablet. Switch is simply what the Wii U should have been. It just wasn't feasible to make a hybrid as powerful as the Switch in 2012.

I think it's sad that Nintendo has quit making dedicated home consoles. I hope one day Nintendo re-emerges in the dedicated home console market with a kick-ass machine with specs comparable to whatever Sony and MS have out at the time. Can you guys imagine a Zelda game with graphics on par with Horizon: Zero Dawn?

@jaymikells: That would be cool but unfortunately I think Nintendo is going to stick to making portables from now on.

Good riddance. Now just one more that can't compete needs to exit stage left before they damage their brand further! *Cough* Sony *Cough*

No worries... their mediocre games could earn them a pretty profit as third party games Microsoft allows on Xbox One. Microsoft can be very forgiving and generous.
