No sir, as much Gamecube is a good console, gaming wise and business wise, it lost to XBox and PS2. However, due to Nintendo's 3rd place on Gamecube, we manage to witness the greatest come back in video game history. We all though Nintendo is done going third party. Analyst count them out in their projections. Even worst, 3rd party developers count them out and allocate too much resources into HD gaming to the point of bankcruptcy. I don't know what Nintendo did to prove everyone of us wrong despite its shovelware, but I guess its luck.
Nope the wii is best system ever created. Due to its incredible new type of controller and by far the largest games library from the widest variety of developers. ;)
The Wii became a phenomenon that 3rd party developers are paying the price for not developing for it before. In Theory, 3rd party developers dictate which console will gain most sales due to the games they released. Wii changed the entire game that Sony, Microsoft, and 3rd party developers are slowly but surely starting to play it's game.

I think it will change, not because Nintendo will change, but rather 3rd party developers will change and start creating new games for it that is not a port nor a shovelware for easy cash. You also have to admit that despite some 3rd party developers earned a lot of money from Blockbuster HD games, it has lost the most too from it.
For the record I think the Gamecube was awesome, totally underrated and superior to the N64. The Wavebird set the stage for all of our current-gen controllers. I can't say it was better then the PS2, and I think it was slightly better then the X-box. In my opinion, innovation and superior graphics > x-box live and built-in hard disk, but x-box definitely pushed the envelope. All-in-all it was an awesome gen for consoles, far better then the saturn-ps1-n64 gen.

I think Gamecube was awesome too, that is why Wii included Gamecube peripherals like its controller and memory game, and pure backward capability. As much as Gamecube is a failure to some, the best thing about Nintendo is that they never did abandoned Gamecube games and controllers compare to PS3 and X360 (at first they did, but soon became different).

Hmm, sorry I disagree. Gamecube was a great console for sure, no doubt, not the best though. It had a limited disc format which lead to it being inferior in some multiplats. The controller was pretty average IMO. The L and R triggers weren't actually triggers, just glorified buttons. And I found the games library to be a bit limited in comaprison with the PS2 and XBOX. Had some great games such as Zelda WW, TP, MP, MP 2, Mario Sunshine, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2, Smash Bros etc.

He did not mention the article, but he mention the concept of the "Fallacy of the Slippery Slope" which is what PS3 and X360 is witnessing as they address their motion sensing.

dudes, i don't know what you're smokin but the GC was definitely the greatest system of all time. Some utterly fantastic games were created for the console (Sunshine, Prime, RE 4) Although i have to say.... the best video game soundtrack of all time has to go to Super Mario Galaxy

The Gamecube was much more powerful than the PS2. i agree just becuz ps2 had alot of games doesnt meen it was good. the cube had better graphics, games and controller

Yeah I gotta agree. I actually have had many problems with Nintendos controllers, mainly the GC and N64, those two were pretty average. The rest a are fine though.
As for games, definitely has good ones, just not enough.

The Gamecube had better graphics than the PS2 by far, and had better textures than the X-Box. As for the controller, that's a matter of opinion, but IMO it's one of the best standard controllers ever made. The way three of the buttons radiate around the fourth makes it really easy to hit any button combination. To top it all off it had context sensitive shoulder buttons. The only drawback was the fact that the C-stick was a mediocre analog stick.
