Mii now - and back to the expanded audience. He wanted to make something everyone could use so they made the Mii editor simple.

He siad that years ago. By that he meant the old Spaceworld GC demo of "Mario 128" was a test of what became the engine Pikmin used.

Doesn't matter. GDC wasn't really a big place for Nintendo announcements to begin with. Even if there were no gag orders, I'm sure the keynote would have been about the same.

It's disappointing, especially with Sony's announcements still hanging in the air.

They didn't announce anything new, did they, really? He just said SMG is out this year, that could be late December 2007 for all we know, and he said they were working on a new Wii Channel using the Mii's.

What announcements? Almost everyone assumed Mario Galaxy was coming out this year, and a new Wii channel that doesn't do much aren't really announcements... Neither of them will make the kind of difference as...well...just about anything else they could have anounced.

Agree. It would've been nice to get at least one actual release date or something...

But then again, that's not really the point of GDC. The speech wasn't meant for gamers wanting new games, it was made for developers wanting learn from one of the best.
