Nintendo, launching their bait&switch console this year at a whopping 300 dollars, with no voice chat capabilities, apps at launch, a controller at an extra cost of $70, attempted to put up a willing fight. The end result was neigh.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild: the saddest excuse ever for a console launch, this game was delayed for over a year and a half to support the company's new platform. Wii U owners like you and I were forgotten as the once promised 2015 game suddenly became a 2017 multiplatform title.
Arms: a fresh return to the gimmick of Nintendo: completely forget gameplay as long as you add some new "unique" bullshit. Was forgotten several months after launch when people realized it wasn't fun to play video games like it was 2006 still.
Splatoon 2: Oh dear piglet, this game is literally a reskin of the first game, with new modes that you can't even relax and play at your leisure; no, you play them at the mercy of Nintendo O'clock. This is Battlefront 2: Switch edition.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: You probably played this game a few years ago somewhere, and you probably weren't willing to shell out the whopping 60 BUCKS again for the same game this year.
Pokken Tournament DX: You probably played this game a few- ****, why am I getting a feeling of deja vu?
Fire Emblem Warriors: Your favorite button masher mixed with an above average IP by Nintendo equals some great milking of a wonderful franchise. If only a Nintendo console received a proper FE title since Radiant Dawn ten years ago.
Super Mario Odyssey: You can't even talk shit about this one, it's actually innovative and fun. It just had to have one flaw (because it's made by Nintendo and their brand recognition IS messing up games) of wacky and cumbersome motion controls, rendering the mobile version of the game annoying to play.
Do you think Nintendo will be able to come back in 2018? With Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and others coming (although we have no evidence any of these titles actually exist, it's a lot of smoke and mirror Sony style, when were these games announced anyways?), will Nintendo be able to have a strong exclusive lineup of games?
