..It's called Project H.A.M.M.E.R., and it resembles many games like Gears of War and Too Human.  You basically play as a muscle-bound hero with a huge hammer.  You can use the Wii-Controls to attack enemies, which appear to be robot things.

This is the main character:

The game's graphics look pretty good, some of the best on the Wii so far.  The game is slightly mature and more deep then Nintendo's other frist-party games.  Hopefully, when this game comes out, the argument over whether or not Nintendo is kiddy can be settled and laid to rest.

Here are some screens:

Forgive me for saying, but that game looks very boring. Maybe Nintendo can do something with it, but in its present state, I wouldn't give it a try.

This screenshot in particular bugs me. Sure it has the cliche crate-smashing most games do, but where are they? They're in the middle of a city, yet there are crates out in the middle of the street, crates that are bigger than the person himself. It bugs me to no end.

I'm all for the Wii and I don't care if people think it's "kiddy." I'm also all for smashing stuff with large blunt objects. But this game just looks mediocre.

1) Whats a "Gengi"? If you mean "Genji", you spelled it wrong. **** weeps in his bed.

2) It's not a samurai game, it's a robot game

Why would you even compare the two? They're completely different.

"Hi I'm a crate - I'm here to let you know you're looking at an uncreative pile of rehash at best" Thanks Mr. Crate! You saved me $50! No in all seriousness - this does not "stop the kiddy" - Nintendo is kiddy because they don't appeal to hardcore gamers. Hardcore gamers are not all about violence, blood, sex, and mayhem. We're about a certain degree of difficulty in gaming, a certain depth, a certain level of maturity. You pander to us - you make games so deep, twisted, and convoluted that we can dominate any gamer without twenty years of experience. Gears of War is hardcore because thirty year old men in batman pajamas can make fourteen year old boys cry like babies over "teh internet". That's it. Disgaea is hardcore because it demands you sink three-hundred hours of gameplay into it, just to stop being a "n00b". Mario is hardcore because he's old school. I know a lot of core gamers waiting for the next Mario game, I don't know *any* who want Project Hammer. Hammer looks like the kind of game I'd give to my ten year old son so he could play something aggressive without it being too violent or bloody.

pure-blood Nintendo fans have a terrible habit of comparing games that are nothing alike. Metroid and Halo. Gears and Project Hammer. Zelda and Oblivion. It's really quite frustrating. I'm a fan of Nintendo, but I'm left going "please... understand WHY these games are NOTHING alike before you try doing some kind of comparison." most people who make the comparison have NOT spent hundreds of hours with both of the games they're comparing.

This game looks horrible just as bad as ps2 games did with the jaggies. I'm so glad that we're out of that generation of games. Nintendo has and will always remain kiddy.

You don't have a samurai guy in it. I never compared the game to GeoW... I merely said that the main character and mature take resembled games like Gears of War. I'm sorry if the big words confused your head.

Ahh the old DBZ line love when this comes up because obviously the idiot who says has never once seen a japanese episode or movie because they can be quite violent. Whether it be punching a hole into someones stomach or blowing anothers head off to even slicing someone to pieces then blasting their remains. You can go ahead and keep dreaming about this dumb game taking away the kiddy image that nintendo has carried for decades because all you've done is proved us all right.

project hammer = god of war killer? j/k. This is coming from NST (nintendo software technology) - one of their american based developres. The studio that brought you metroid prime hunters for the DS. while the main character of hammer has that bad ass look kind of like Kratos as if he's pissed off about something, I'm not sure if NST can match the quality of Sony's Santa Monica studio. Though, they did a decent job with metroid prime hunters so we'll see. Project hammer looks promising. It may be a sleeper hit for all we know. No reason to hype it up yet though.

The 'kiddy' saying is going to stick regardless. Even if Nintendo ditched all of it's franchises and just churned out 'mature' titles, there would still be people calling them 'kiddy'. It's the way things are.

True, and you're not smashing open crates the whole game to get items, but the point remains. Crates have been *so* overused in videogames that it's completely unacceptable for them to continue to exist. Every time I see a crate I feel like I'm starring at a void - a void that creativity could have filled. It's like when you're playing a game (say Enter the Matrix) and a door simply won't open. I can jump off walls, dodge bullets, punch through car doors, but I can't kick down a door? Why not let me open the door, only to find a solid brick wall behind it (like in the movie when the agents changed the matrix)? Why not have the door simply open into a janitor's closet? It could have been *anything* except just a locked door. One of the best examples of containment comes from Final Fantasy VII. At the beginning of the game, when the designers need to keep you on a linear path, you're trapped in a slum part of the city, yet you never feel like arbitrary barriers are keeping you in place. It's like "I need to escape from this city" and when it comes time to you do. I never simply wandered in a direction too far and hit an invisible wall like I do in Kirby Air Riders.

Not true at all. If Nintendo brought back Rare and got killer instict or conker it would tarnish the kiddy image greatly but we all know thats not gonna happen.

Gears of War BTW.

YES! :D Yeah, I dunno what the big deal is about this H.A.M.M.E.R game, it honestly looks like pretty dumb, like Onimusha or something. I think the days of hack-and-slashes are long over...

God of War, Devil May Cry, and Ninja Gaiden disagree with you.

true, I forgot about them games... I never played any of 'em aside from DMC 1 a long time ago... anyways HAMMER still looks kinda sub-par to me

You can't be 100% positive without playing it. The previews from critics all seem surprisingly positive.

You kill robots. Last time I checked robots don't have blood.

They have oil which can be a subsitute for blood.

Is this sarcasm? It better be, because that was just stupid.

This lame game you brought up is just stupid, this is something for ages 7-10.

Why? Because it's made by Nintendo? I can call Gears of War a game for kids ages 7-10. I can call DBZ an anime (ew, anime) show for ages 7-10 (I dont care if it's violent in Japan, it's not violent here). You haven't even played the game. How would you know if the gameplay is bad? Heck, this could be a huge hit. Everyone thought Metroid Prime would suck, but it's the highest scored GC game on GS. And stop calling people "noob". You're just acting childish and immature, at best.
