So with the latest sales figures in and Wii having won the month of January and in position to win February in North America, along with outselling the PS3 3-1 in Japan do you guys think that Nintendo can keep this up. Does anyone believe that Nintendo might actually win this generation? Or do you think that the 360 and PS3 will eventually pass it in sales in the coming month/months?MasterChumlyNah, the Wii has a nice chance of winning in sales, not only this month, but the entire year. :)

Agreed, Nintendo has proven inovation > Graphics.

now all you need is quality games. go ahead and keep on waiting. price is important. i probably couldn't afford the ps3 and have any use for it for the same price i can enjoy my wii.
As a Wii owner I'm pleased they're selling systems but after Zelda, where's the killer apps? Aside from the VC there's nothing out there now that I consider a must buy. At this point the Wii is taking a back seat to my 360 just like the N64 did to the PS1.chisoxruleLike any new console, there will be droughts. Look at where the Xbox 360 was at this time last year, and where it's at now. It's gotten so much better, I think the Wii will follow suit.

But Wii does have Zelda and it does have an already wicked library on the VC so it beats the pants off PS3 which has...Blu Ray movies?

I have to say I am with you on that one. I will be pickup up Sonic tomorrow "wait it 12:42 that will be today" but I really want Mario Party and some RPGs to come out.
Yes I love playing Mario Party.

Disregarding the "killer app" status (an overused buzzword anyways), I can vouch for these games as both very fun and very difficult. Sonic and the Secret Rings looks promising, and soon enough we'll have SSX Blur and Super Paper Mario. Then the "big three:" Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Factor in games like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (online non-MMO co-op RPG? yes please), Disaster: Day of Crisis, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Dragon Quest Swords, No More Heroes, and possibly the next Kirby title, and I'm not terribly worried that my Wii won't go unused (zing!)

I think Wii will end up selling the most.. But the PS3 will get close later on. I just don't believe that the 100 million or so people that bought PS2 will just jump over to Wii. But it'll only get close. redban2Consumers are faithful to what's good, brand loyalty is all but dead. With the internet making it easy to locate product reviews and news articles it is easier than ever for consumers to trust in previously unknown companies.

I'm hoping Metroid Prime 3 comes out soon, that game has been delayed a few times already. I'm speculating Super Mario Galaxy won't be released until the holidays, which sucks but it will probably help move more Wii's this holiday season.

The only game that's coming out soon that I'm looking foward to is Super Paper Mario. Cause who knows when Smash Bros. and Metroid are coming out. Those games like Wario-Ware and Trauma Center do nothing for me. It really makes you see how great the Cube's start was. You had Star Wars Rogue Leader II, Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, Smash Bros., and Lugui's Mansion. That's 2 killer apps. and 3 AA games. A lot better than what were getting from the wii.
Ok since we know that the majority of the gaming population is casual (like 90%?). What do you guys think the casuals are going to buy. Do you think its going to be the overwhelming majority to the wii becuase of its price or do you think its going to split between the systems maybe more going to the wii?MasterChumlyCasuals love the Wii. It's a phenomenon.

Nintendo read the market like a book. But number 1? I think that title will belong to MS.
