I think that Xbox and PS3 need to start making games that the Wii could not help to emmulate. Right now both of the graphical giants are making games that the wii could do, just with worse graphics. If those systems release an open-ended game where you explore a truly living, massive environment then we might see a shift in sales. GTA4 may be that game, but I was thinking of a less urban type of game.

Agreed, Nintendo has proven inovation > Graphics.

I don't think we can say that quite yet. There really hasn't been a game that has truly unlocked the wiimote's potential. I think Nintendo has demonstrated that they are smart enough to make easily-approachable software at a reasonable price. Put that with a wacky console name, and you've hooked casuals, which is where Nintendo is dominating at the moment. And despite what you hardcore gamers say, this is the group that will ultimately win the console war. It's what got Sony's win with the PS2. I'm going to hold out for some titles that will undoubtedly come out later this year to say that Nintendo has proven that innovation > graphics.

It seems that the Wii is attractive to a broad range of people and I hear people talking about desiring to get one once they have tried it out. The controller and Wii Sports alone sell the system as another poster noted. Its sales are already well above the other two systems on a month per month basis. I've seen dozens of people stare at sales people in shock when they are told the price of the PS3. Its like someone opened one of those suprise can of worms in their face. That being said the lineup for the Wii is so "Nintendo" I could personally care less about it. SUPER MARIO BLAH BLAH and PINKY'S WING WANG and BABY DOO DOO are all so much crap IMO I don't care what the gameplay is like.

At the moment the only thing that can slow Nintendo is Nintendo, the only reason they haven't sold more Wiis and DS's is due to constrained supply, the demand is off the chartsAvinashTyagi

I agree. Aside from Zelda there's nothing there. (And I bought Zelda for cube.) The only game that's coming out soon that I'm looking foward to is Super Paper Mario. Cause who knows when Smash Bros. and Metroid are coming out. Those games like Wario-Ware and Trauma Center do nothing for me. It really makes you see how great the Cube's start was. You had Star Wars Rogue Leader II, Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, Smash Bros., and Lugui's Mansion. That's 2 killer apps. and 3 AA games. A lot better than what were getting from the wii.

Zelda (AAA quality to the rest of the world)
Wario
Wii Sports (it sells systems)

Trauma Center
Madden 07

I acknowledge Zelda being good in my post. It's great...I know. Wii Sports is a demo. I bought Madden 07' in August for the Gamecube. Mini-games like Wario:Ware and Rayman do nothing for me. The killer apps. and AAA's I listed for Gamecube came out in less than 1 month after the system. That's more than what were getting on the Wii now..3 months after it's release.

Since when was this about your preference? I listed more Wii AAs and killer appss then you did GC ones and only one was not launch (wario). Who cares if you like them or buy them. The fact is that they are top titles and have been selling. Wii players already have many great games to pick from, even if they don't appeal to you.

You responded to a post that was about my personal preference.. But if you wanna go by critical acclaim only...the Cube still wins. Here are the AA and killer apps on Cube's launch: Wave Race: Blue Storm, Pikmin Star Wars Rogue leader Smash Bros Super Monkey Ball Luigi Mansion Madden Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (This is actually AAA to tell the truth) Look at the scores those games got if you don't believe their all AA or higher.And ALL of them came out at launch. The Cube's launch>>>>> Wii's launch

Doesn't matter. Over 4 million casuals and hardcore gamers alike have already purchased a Wii, and I still know people that are looking for them. Cry about it all you want, the Wii being an inferior good is on a personal basis at the moment, and not many share your opinion at the moment.

for people saying wii has a bad selection of games right now putting aside zelda give it one year just like 360 had and basically every game on gamespot FOR WII will be realeased and thats about 70 or more good games plus another three years for the gaming generation to end just imagine how many good games wii will have

Nintendo Wii will probably smoke its rivals im a big X360 fan but with it flopping in Japan- i dont c it standing a chance of winning it might come 2nd but could be beaten by PS3 due to Japanese sales

360 is selling the most.
Wii will never catch 360 in sells. If it does then its "Lemming" apocalypse here on system wars.
PS3 will defiantly pass Wii in sales.
PS3 will win this generation.

Nintendo will win in sales with consoles and portables and will make the most profit, they will dominate! And they also are going to sell a lot of games.

I know....Feb 27. SSX Blur got an 8.4 on GAMETRAILERS. The same site that gave Virtua Fighter 5 a 9.1 and Zelda AAA status. Imagine what SSX Blur will get on Gamespot. Another flop. Pokemone battle and Super Smash and Metroid can't wait for those to flop and yes I will keep bringing up pass threads like this to say I told you so. Expect more of this in the future.

We have a better lineup for 07 and the slaughter begins here with another AAA hyped game flopped.

It's good to see Nintendo doing well but I've yet to be impressed by their marketing scheme. Their marketing in the past hasn't been so great.

Metroid Prime 2 was released in Europe and I saw no advertising at all. With Metroid Prime 3 coming out in the future I really hope they can advertise this well and the other big games coming out.

360 is selling the most.
Wii will never catch 360 in sells. If it does then its "Lemming" apocalypse here on system wars.
PS3 will defiantly pass Wii in sales.

Nah, the Wii has a nice chance of winning in sales, not only this month, but the entire year. :)

Agreed, Nintendo has proven inovation > Graphics.

I'm so tired of seeing symbleism of substance win b/c of marketing, smarten up please it's talk and evangelizing a brand name rather than suporting the best system out and the cost dif. is not much !!!

Reminds me of the hype that was the PS2 when my real world beater SEGA Dreamcast was losing, I mean I could not believe it when in stores watching people buy even the PS1 over the DC and all b/c the label.

Seven years ago I was playing NFL2K1 online and Sega even gave the DC away for free if you sighned up for Sega/Net. I pioneered that service and PSO was sweet for over the phone line ( incedently, PSU has more lag on my 360 than did dial-up on DC lol dont know why ) yet all the fools were buying up PS1 & N64's I have both those by the way but man DC killed those turds with true INNOVATION !!

Same now - Wii has nothing over 360 and yet it is sucessful and very well could win - I feel sick - Later.

It's not competition. The Wii is appealing to an entirely different demographic. Any hardcore gamer that has a Wii, also has a 360 and/or a PS3.

a small group of sheep on one thread =/= all the sheep on the system wars. The over all hype for this game was AA to AAA. Even if it gets low AA the sheep don't get owned

PS3 will take the win for sure. Quality is more important than price.comptonst

with that being said the Wii is good quality, and good gaming quality at that, not just high end media hardware at a high price

Wii will prob end up with double the gamecube sales. And PS3 will end up with about half of the PS2 sales.

REmember, even NIntendo had a gradual decline from one console to the next. PS won't just drop from 100 million sold to 10. Same for Nintendo, they won't just go from 22 mil gamecubes to 100 million. Hell they never even reached the 100 mil mark with any of their systems.
