You think nintendo are selfish? Meet Microsoft.hyruledweller
I see M$ taking loses to bring me a great product.
I see Nintendo just tweaking Motion sensing technology adding it to a controller then renaming their dead GC, then claiming they have a new console for us. And they want str8 up profits for it

I see Microsoft in violation of anti trust laws....many times.
I also see Microsoft losing money to bring an unreliable product to market. One with overheating and disk destroying issues.
I see Nintendo actually making profit and having a system with full backwards compatibility.
[QUOTE="KeyWii"]It all started with the N64. Nintendo is such a cheap, selfish company, they continued using their own cartridges because it's cheaper for them and more expensive for everyone else.
Instead of paying Sony and Phillips some coin to use CDs, which would have been a great boon to 3rd parties, they selfishly continued to use inferior cartridges. Which cost them a great deal of 3rd party support.
I almost think Nintendo doesn't want 3RD party support (competition) because they then benefit from enormous sales on their 1st party games, which are the only quality games being released. You can see this with the N64. Let's analyze sales data. The number on the left is units sold in millions.

Now let's look at Sony who encourages support (games) for it's sytem, despite the fact they may not profit astronomically off their own games. PS2 First: Quick Snippet.

I think they expected 3rd parties to follow them with their N64 just because of their brand name so I do agree cartridges was a huge mistake. They basically gave away their crown in the console war and allowed consumers to despise them for not delivering an entertainment system as great as the PS1...which obviously transferred into even more hatred when GC didn't improve their 3rd party support. They're the same. They still refused to part with some cash to use DVD's with the GameCube and they did it again with the Wii.
They're doing much better now with their Wii and DS though and they do appear much less selfish/arrogant and I do think it's going to be beneficial to them.

Because most people already have a DVD player, and they didn't want us to spend more on an unnecessary feature for the Wii.....

so thats why japan is getting a new verison of wii with dvd player .....
gc in japan had dvd player as well...
Just out of curiosity. do u know why Nintendo canceled the CD support from Sony? Its becasue Sony wanted the rights to all of Nintendo's franchises. Now tell me, would that do any good for Nintendo if Sony stole all the franchises and made cheap knock offs of Mario for the PoS3? Cartrages were are still are the best way for gaming. NDS proves it, they are fast and easy, why do we need massive games when all we want is fun? Yes thats right. Cartriages are awesome.beinss
he just a troll dont take him serouisly
[QUOTE="kansasdude2009"]well... that was dumb...The point of this thread was that Nintendo has crap 3rd party because 3rd parties struggle to profit off Nintendo consoles.
More 3rd party = more games = more consoles sold = more 1st party titles sold

exactly.
It's fine that they want money. But Sony allows others to profit off their system, unlike Nintendo. Thus, we get more games on a Sony system.I think they expected 3rd parties to follow them with their N64 just because of their brand name so I do agree cartridges was a huge mistake.
