Nintendo more interested in =) than tech.

Nintendo of America's Charlie Scibetta has told the NY Daily News that the company is more interested in providing gamers with an experience that's going to leave them with a smile on their face, rather than participate in a tech race against the next Xbox and the PlayStation 4.

"If you enjoy playing the game then what the specs are under the hood, from our perspective, doesn't matter a whole lot. We've never hung our hat on being the most powerful system. We do like to make the claim that our games put smiles on people's faces, and they?re really fun and innovative."

He's pretty much saying what was told before Wii launch and we all know how amazing that system was ('was' because wii is r.i.p now). Btw, i dunno wtf he's talking about but games such as TW2 (pc) made me :) because EVERYTHING was great, not just the gameplay Nintendo is aiming for.

I don't mind the "tech race" in terms of graphical advancements which can lead to a whole other level of immersion besides textures. I enjoy that.

What I don't like? Jackasses presenting peripherals that hardly function and gimmicks that start to collect dust less than a month of use.

Guess what... you can still play crappy looking games with high end computers.

We don't know ps4 or xbox 8 specs, but more I read nintendo talking about "tech sucks" the more I think same thing will happen to wii u that happened to wii. Missed all great 3rd party games.

Guess what... you can still play crappy looking games with high end computers.

We don't know ps4 or xbox 8 specs, but more I read nintendo talking about "tech sucks" the more I think same thing will happen to wii u that happened to wii. Missed all great 3rd party games.

Correction......they are more interested in $$$ than tech.

The amount of power in a console doesnt correlate to how much "fun" you are having, and having weaker hardware doesnt make games more "fun". If you believe this and take it for anything more than PR nonsense, well......I wont get into that.....

The industry is about foreward progression. Graphics always has been, and always will be the focus of next generation gaming. The reason Nintendo is not taking part in this, is because they realize that they cannot viably compete in this reguard (because it would be too expensive/risky for them), and they realize that they can put out a weaker system and that their fanbase will still buy whatever they put out.

Ok? I don't just game on the wii or will be on the wiiU. I have my 3DS and PC and paperweight of a 360. The wii couldn't be a stand alone console, and will probably go down as the worst ninty console. Who knows if the wiiU can be it's own stand alone console. Everything is speculation at this point. I probably won't be getting a 720 simply because I won't have the time to play so many games. YoshiYogurt
