They are only interested in puttin smiles on people's faces... specially on theirs after getting your moneys.
Anyway, what I read is: "we're not gonna improve spec because you fools will buy our sh!t anyway lol!!"
I wasnt very happy playing any of the major Nintendo titles on the Wii. I dont see that changing with the Wii U. Let me play 1st party Nintendo games without any gimmicks and i will be happy. No crappy tablet controls or motion controls. Two analog sticks and some buttons. Boom, i am content.
Yeah, how dare they focus on the enjoyability of their games first and foremost :|[QUOTE="NaveedLife"]

I agree fancy graphics are not everything, but Nintendo loves to downplay tech, and they didn't do themselves any favors at E3. I am sorry but currently Nintendo is failing in my eyes.

failing because what, They chose not to stress graphics and technical specs over gameplay and design? Y'know, the very stuff that they excel at?i definatelly dont mind this
there are more pros then cons , with this scenario
1- nintendos taking baby steps in terms of raw power to keep price down -thus making the tmyth about consoles are cheaper then pc for consumers that just wanna play games) true to its word
im going to be real
id rather pay 279-349 for a console that plays strictly games has good local multiplayer good aaa titles new controller with good first party support
then blow 600-1000 bucks on a console that acts like a swiss army knife - /aka poor mans pc
another thing id like to point out about ridiculously powerful consoles
1- they eat your electric bill
2 the more space they need for graphics is less space for gameplay /content cars maps missions what ever , per disc, see the majoraty of games this gen on 360 ps3, take them and compare to a wii game like zelda or metroid
i bet you you can complete all 5 call of duty games quicker then you can beat 100 percent zelda on wii
dont test me ill win i already beat all 5 in 8 hours tops

But none of us cared. The only ones that really complained about the lack of 3rd party support on the Wii were the people that didn't own one. We still got plenty of 3rd party games, and extremely high quality first-party games.

I wish you could see th elight as I have :P. As if the good graphics detract from the gameplay. As if their games are better than all the games from Sony, MS, and other devs. Nintendo is simply appealing to EVERYONE and that includes the casual audience. This is all well and good, but it means the more advanced, hardcore audience of the gaming community suffers. That is just the way it is. They are a business and they are doing what they view best, not what i view best.

That's crock of BS.
Just 5 years ago, sheep were bragging and boasting about 3rd party support coming to the Wii because of "teh sales". At the end, Wii owners really got shafted because a vast majority of those developers would rather develop for 360 and PS3.
Now, sheep are wishfully thinking 3rd party games will come to Wii-U, boasting standard 720p or 1080p resolutions, and developers make take advantage of the GamePad, creating innovative experiences. And also crying for "new IPs!!!"
Bottomline, sheep actually DO CARE and hopefully wants that 3rd party support to happen on WiiU, but simply won't admit to it.
I can guarantee to you, if an ultra realistic Sim Racer developered exclusively by a 3rd party, comes along to WiiU and actually scores higher than let's say Forza5 or GT6, sheep will be all over the system wars bragging about how wonderfully awesome they've finally got a Racer competitive enough to rival the current sim racers in the market. Or if the next CoD game or some exclusive military FPS/TPS, with standard 1080p at an ultra smooth 60fps comes along to rival Halo or Killzone, sheep will simply laugh their butts off against PS3 and 360 owners at how pathetic their HD consoles are.
Nintendo currently has a lot of money thanks to the Wii but I think there throught process will sink them. We want current gen graphics. Don't sell me a console with graphics built five years ago.caseypayne69
What's "current gen graphics" ?
I mean this game here released in 2011 and it looks beautiful - I prefer this game graphically over a typical PS3/360 big budget game with realism and too much detail.

Oh Nintendo drones never cease to amuse me. Fact: Great third party support is more important than having a great first party. If all you have is first party then your system has nowhere near the library of the competition. Nintendo have proven that with their last 3 home consoles, and they will prove it again with the Wii U.

The Wii sold on a gimmick, good marketing and because it targeted casuals. Not because the first party or its games library in general was good. The first party lineup didn't help the Gamecube because the Gamecube didn't have a gimmick to sell it.The Wii U gimmick isn't like the motion control gimmick and will not sell systems in the same way. Not to mention core gamers have been scared off from buying Nintendo home consoles because of how crappy the Wii library was. When the Wii U is ashes.....you have my permission to die.

Why can't you do both Nintendo?TheGuardian03
When you release high spec console, production cost of that console may be so high that console maker has to sell it at loss, since otherwise people wont buy it, case in point ps3 - it was estimated to cost 800 per unit for sony. When nintendo releases low spec console like the wii, they can sell it at profit.

I know two types of Wii owners in the real world: Type 1: The new casual non gamers who got a Wii, Wii Sports, and usually a Mario or fitness or dancing game. They were perfectly happy. Type 2: Gamers who got a Wii, saw how it missed out on every great multiplat, and had to get a 360 or PS3 or PC as well. It's cool you're happy with what the Wii got. I am not happy with 1st party + a few scraps. I want the good old days of SNES where we have a powerful Nintendo console, the best 1st party, plus all/most of the best 3rd party games.[QUOTE="WiiCubeM1"]

Took me 7 years to do it, and the only reason I bought the 360 this gen was because I was able to get it for $40. I don't care how stuck up you are, no one will resist that deal.

Because the PS3 was expensive due to having current tech, not because they used a stupid architecture and included blu-ray
The answer is, they could do both! They just don't want to, as they prefer to sell their consoles to EVERYONE. so the hardcore gamer who is willing to spend a tad more, suffers because the casuals are not.
