I recall a Ridge racer on the GC, but that's more of an arcade racer. At some points it can look/feel like a simulator because of the handling (once you're turned off brake assist) and the upgrade options...
i hate those racing games, one crash and ur basically out of the race (thinking NFS) I prefer the racing games like excite truxk, fzero, wipeout and mariokart
Sick of ppl coming in here saying "sims are crap" or whatever. Good for you if you dont like them, bad luck for lacking the skill to be competative at them.
Id rather play Mario kart with friends anytime over any simulator.

Yes mario kart is more fun indeed.
But I don't think the Nintendo console owners ever complained over it and I have never noticed that they would even want racing sims so it doesn't matter.
I am pretty sure Need for Speed: Carbon is a racing sim, and it's available for the Wii. gnutux
I just threw up a little in my mouth. Need for Speed is garbage for the Fast-and-Furious crowd, not a serious simulator. It's sad, because Need for Speed actually started out as more of a sim, produced with Road & Track. Can you imagine Road & Track putting their name on Carbon? I can't. Arcade racers can be fun - PGR3 is a fun arcade racer, and Burnout Revenge is a blast in crash mode - but they're no substitute for a serious circuit racer.
meh, PC is for racing "sims", thats what i play on there. Forza and GT are fun but dont come close in overall realism. I think its safe to say most prefer fun racing games like mario kart on the Nintendo consoles.Ospi
its a missed opportunity allright. i think the GC got one over its life (cant remember the name). id love a rally game on the wii (for some reason i love rally games. i have no interest in the sport and i have no idea who colin mcrae is but its fun to play).
still, personally speaking, id take wipeout, trackmania, fzero or mario kart over a gran turismo or forza motor sport any day.
No one really has a racing simulator. THose are the really really long borring ones that just try to be as realistic as possible. If you mean racers with like real cars and tracks, ummmm, ok, I'll give you that much, you got us there :roll:

Tell you what - drop by my house and try that in Forza 2. You'll spin the rear end out and put it backwards into the wall, and I will laugh at you.
Racing sims = teh boring and lack of fun. Sorry but I will take Mario Kart, F-Zero or any other great Nintendo racing game over boring tripe like Forza. Gran Turismo is alright but still it lacks the fun that games like Mario Kart have, especially with multiplayer.DSgamer64
There are no racing sims on Nintendo consoles because they suck. I can't enjoy these games, as they're just too realistic, I'd much rather being going insanely fast or be able to fire something at my opponents. I want racing games to give me an experience I can't get anywhere else. That means nothing I see on TV, or anything I can do in a real car.
