Days of Thunder (or something like that) for the nes. I guess you could call it a sim, it had a pit crew and stuff. I dunno. I don't play racing games much...Safety05I remember renting it when I was a kid and nearly cried at how bad it was, I'd just spent all my pocket money on it
they had burnout and burnout two on the cubemonkeysrfat
I've already gotten owned in this thread...but to clarify. Burnout games are not sim racers. They are arcade racers.

Probably the only racing game besides Mario Kart I would play.
Racing simulators are forgettable.

They also sell A LOT. Look at Gran Turismo and Forza. Those sold a lot...especially Gran Turismo games.
That's another reason why I will never own a Wii - or any other Nintendo console.d-suhitiwhat are your other reasons? honestly brand hating is stupid if you ask me
But sims are boring...
Id rather play Mario kart with friends anytime over any simulator.
Hir0_N
Yes mario kart is more fun indeed.
But I don't think the Nintendo console owners ever complained over it and I have never noticed that they would even want racing sims so it doesn't matter.
I am pretty sure Need for Speed: Carbon is a racing sim, and it's available for the Wii. gnutuxI just threw up a little in my mouth. Need for Speed is garbage for the Fast-and-Furious crowd, not a serious simulator. It's sad, because Need for Speed actually started out as more of a sim, produced with Road & Track. Can you imagine Road & Track putting their name on Carbon? I can't.
meh, PC is for racing "sims", thats what i play on there. Forza and GT are fun but dont come close in overall realism. I think its safe to say most prefer fun racing games like mario kart on the Nintendo consoles.Ospi

The man knows what he is talking about.
GTR2 + Live For Speed!
its a missed opportunity allright. i think the GC got one over its life (cant remember the name). id love a rally game on the wii (for some reason i love rally games. i have no interest in the sport and i have no idea who colin mcrae is but its fun to play).
still, personally speaking, id take wipeout, trackmania, fzero or mario kart over a gran turismo or forza motor sport any day.

I SERIOUSLY hope that was sarcastic....
If your for real, may god have mercy on your soul when you have your first driving lesson.

Sim racers? I really wish I could drive a car with horrible turning on a road in my videogames. I'm so heartbroken.
It's a shame that I'm stuck with fast paced racers with characters, weapons, great music, and crazy levels.
Lets set the record straight, F-Zero GX is BETTER, and more ENTERTAINING than normal racing sims.
U fail.

Staring at a loaf of bread is more entertaining than normal racing sims.
All of a sudden according to sheep sims arent exiting?
I found IL2 sturmovik much more exiting than any platformer I have ever played, so boo-erns :P

Wow... Do any other consoles have a horse racing sim? That's ownage if they don't ;)
No one really has a racing simulator. THose are the really really long borring ones that just try to be as realistic as possible. If you mean racers with like real cars and tracks, ummmm, ok, I'll give you that much, you got us there :roll:kittykatz5kSo I guess I could tell any professional race car driver, that his job is boring, sucks and 'isnt enjoyable'?

Racing Simulators =/= Real-life racing
I would rather play a Racing Sim like Forza and Gran turismo over Mario Kart any day.
Racing Sims are more fun and have depth.
system3 agrees
"The advantage we've got with the Wii is there aren't any great racing games on there. Rest assured that what we want to do is create the Gran Turismo for the Wii".
my bro likes the games im sure, though he doesnt game
but i really dont like racing sims... id rather arcade games or stuff like fzero, mariokart, wipeout, burnout.. stuff i can play with my friends
Racing sims have got to be the most boring genre I can think of. You simply point the car in the right direction and hold down the accelerator.Tylendali think theres more to it than that..actually i think that best describes arcade racers.

Racing sims = teh boring and lack of fun. Sorry but I will take Mario Kart, F-Zero or any other great Nintendo racing game over boring tripe like Forza. Gran Turismo is alright but still it lacks the fun that games like Mario Kart have, especially with multiplayer.DSgamer64
I heard GT5 is going to be different.
