Sounds like some sort of vibrating stylus? Interesting!

DS2 in late 2010 / early 2011?

Crap, that means battery life legit cut in HALF. =/ But thats really awesome, a lot of people dont understand that Rumble effects in controllers actually adds to the immersion. Take Bad Company 2 for example. Its crazy with rumble. And Gears and Mass Effect 2. And a lot of games.

I agree - Rumble is often overlooked, but it definately adds to the gaming experience.

I think more like mid-2011 to early 2012.

Nintendo will NEVER release a handheld with bad battery life... It just will never ever happen

The DS already has rumble but it's not built in. Kinda sucks that not all games have it. It shouldn't be hard to add it.

I'm a bit surprised, seeing as you have to look at where it's rumbling.

Interesting indeed. Though it is important to note that companies like Nintendo do not implement every patent they file.

Developers are always reluctant to add any time or cost by supporting a non-standard accessory.

Also technically only the original DS and DSLite have rumble capability. With no GBA slot the rumble pack can't work with the DSi. Assuming the DS2 is also missing this slot, they will have to find a new way to implement the feature (if they do).

I hope not, Battery life needs to be the best and rumble is not conducive for that on a portable system.

I don't think it's worth any amount of effort considering that around 5 people own the rumble pack. :|

Presumably you would have the option to disable it.

Once the DSi came out, we all knew that was just a money maker to hold on to while DS2 was coming. It was the same thing with the DS Gameboy Micro, GBA, Gameboy Color, etc.

It's obvious they are making another handheld, it's just when are they going to announce it. And this will probably come out after the horse riding one...
