I think these are samsung screens. I have never seen burn in on mine or any other cell OLED, and I have had a static image on that for 12 hours straight.

Once? The burn in doesn't happen from a static image being on screen just one time. Every time its Nintendo related, absolutely every sheep is saying that they're still playing BOTW five years after the game has been released. Imagine hundreds of hours of static images being on screen. This is what will destroy the screen cuz sheep are still playing their 2017 singleplayer game.
@Elaisse: I heard of some people having burn in issues with Oleds using their PS5s. I was a victim of this also. I tried to contact Sony, but they said they don’t cover burn ins under warranty. Sony has stated it’s extremely rare, but never believe them, these companies like Sony and Nintendo just want your money.

Was it on a sony TV?

I haven't seen anybody try this hard since Casey damage controlling Dread visuals.
@luxuryheart: Come on. Nintendo fans are as much of a cult as you'll ever see in gaming. From somebody like you, i will never hear you criticize Nintendo, because Nintendo can't do anything wrong, which is in the mind of 98% of Nintendo fans.
I would like to see a Quentin Tarantino movie based on Nintendo and its cult😎
I've criticized Nintendo before. If anything, we're the LEAST cult like. When Nintendo makes a bad product, it flops. No questions asked. Labo flopped, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival flopped, the GameCube flopped, the Wii U flopped, etc. Meanwhile the only Sony console to flop was the Vita, which means Sony fans are more brand loyal than Nintendo fans. Even the Xbox One wasn't an outright flop, because it's at about maybe 50 million or 60 million units sold.
Love some Nintendo games, but Ninty shills are a wild bunch.
"If you just ignore this, this, this, this, and this, then why should it matter?"
The anti-Nintendo crowd is even worse. "If you ignore the blatant flops that Nintendo has had, then it goes to show that people will buy anything with Nintendo's brand on it."
As the OLED technology has improved the chances of burn in have reduced. It's of course a possibility but a fairly low one imo, especially if you vary (and since it's a gaming console you will) the content that you are watching.
Have had no burn in problems on my OLED TV nor my Vita (content is varied). However I did have burn in on some of my Android phones (the status bar, since it's almost always there it can lead to that) but so far so good on my current phone.
OLED panels are far superior imo to IPS and VA panels so makes sense that Nintendo went for that. IPS screens especially are awful, terrible contrast ratios, grey blacks and etc. There is a reason why not a single top performing TV is an IPS TV (they are all either oled or VA panels with local dimming).
That being said by now OLED is not revolutionary, hell my vita and phones from years ago had it so it's nothing impressive. But burn in should not be a big concern.
