Nintendo says a big game coming end of the year

According to the story, Nintendo tells Gamestop to make shelf space for a big game......why do I get the sense it's something like Mario Hackysack? One can only guess after they said WiiMusic was their big title last E3.

I refuse to get my hopes up after the Animal Crossing: City Folk debacle. I'm just going to assume it'll be something like Wii Fit 2.

I do not think it is something GameStop should hype. Their crowd is not going to be excited for Wii Fit Plus or something like that.

If this is a new IP that is on the same level of perfection as The Legend of Zelda then yes this is big news here, if it is "Man" Icarus then yes make shelve space. If it is Wii Play More then please start hyping to the right crowds. It infuriated Nintendo fans when Reggie hyped that there was "one more" big hardcore game at E3 08 and it ended up being Animal Crossing.

Yeah, I predict Wii Fit 2. It'll take up a lot of shelf space and sell gangbusters.

Ninty has been releasing games that way and have been quite successful at it, I might add.

Multiple this gen. Maybe none that I'm interested in, but multiple games that gain mainstream interest. The latest is that Excitebots and Punch-Out!!.

I meant to say which big games. If this truely is a Mario or Zelda game, when was the last time Nintendo gave their marketing department 4 months to sale the game to the public. I know Nintendo is arrogant and maybe it's justified at this point but.........that seems pretty boneheaded if it's a key title from one of their major franchises. Now if it's WiiFit as you suggest, ok that makes sense.darthogre

Why do I get the feeling tha the first word in the title will be Wii and the second word will be something that no one really wants to do?

Their big title this year better be something most people will want to play, not Wii Cooking or what ever tech demo they come up with next.

Yup, I agree. An old-school Nintendo/Punch-Out fan, like myself, is super excited to get back into it. And I love the silly animations.

I'll get Excitebots, too. It looks like a lot of fun. I was skeptical at first, but recent gameplay vids and hands-on previews have been quite good. And it has some cool mechanics added into the racing.

I never said Twilight Princess was bad, it's a great game, just inferior to Wind Waker IMO.

Got to disagree with you there. I want a Twilight Princess sequel about 10x more then a Windwaker sequel but I would be happy with either

I know it won't be Mario. I'd rather them take their time and create another masterpiece like SMG. 2 years isn't enough time for that. I hope the ancient Kid Icarus rumor comes to fruition.
