Where does nintendo get the right to call 3 games enough for the hardcore
This topic is locked from further discussion.
They have sales. If you don't like it.....tough.
But seriously, support real games for gamers. Buy a 360 or a PS3.
damn pic wont show
Anywho....
They screwed what up this generation? The gaming world, or just themselves?
haha, very good, and very true, as a hardcore gamer and a wii owner, Nintendo now have to really get their act together or my wii is going to be gathering a lot of dust before hitting cash converters!Ellythrion
Well sir, can you explain to me what makes you a hardcore gamer?
Is it because you play something like Ninja Gaiden Sigma in contrast to Super Paper Mario? If so, then my friend you are NOT a hardcore gamer. Hardcore gamer is someone that loves games no matter how they look, or if theres any mature references.

Quoted for truth. I'm also a hardcore gamer and I have a Wii and I've been severely disappointed with Nintendo. Honestly, after SMG, Mario Kart, SSBB, and MP3, what is left? A few titles that may be great but will most likely flop. *sigh* C'mon Nintendo, give us some real games!

Actually, A hardcore gamer juts plays alot of games. usually 8 hours a day, or as much as possible. A casual gamer used to be some one who only played downwards of 30 minutes a day.Now the causual market is more like regular gamers, and the Nongamers are making My favoriteGamestore smell like old people.
lets get mad at nintendo for allowing other people to finally get to game. i support my fellow hardcore game, but before this gen. i always looked at next gen as a gen, that forgets the new commers of gaming. This gen is actually forgetting to include the new generation of gaming, which i kind of resent. when i was growing up, there was always games for younger gamers, as well as older gamers. this gen is kind of different in a way. it Nintendo forgot the hardcore gamers, then sony and microsoft forgot the new generation of gamers, who basically help grow the market in a way. i support nintendo and the wii for that matter, for the fact that there allowing younger gamers, kids to have a console to play on. the wii has a full open demographic, that it supports, unlike the ps3 and xbox 360. i respect that a lot from nintendo.
First party sets the standard. Sony is releasing quite a few exclusives. Microsoft is supporting third parties beautifully.
Nintendo on the other hand is peddling gimmicks and franchises that just aren't worth getting excited about anymore. How can you look at games like COD4, Bioshock, The Darkness, and Assassins Creed and not be upset that they are impossible to port to the Wii?
Look at the games that are supposed to take their place. SC Legends, RE:UC, Boogie, and Wii Playground?
Nintendo is providing options. im sorry but the console does have mini games, but it also have full fledge games, so your argument is kind of getting tired and stale now. i dont know about you, but the only options the other guys have is trying to figure out which first person shooter, to pick over the other. after seeing whats at e3 07... i could declair this gen is dying, just as how the music industry (rap is dead) and the lack of originality in the movie industry. enjoy being a space marine over and over again in your games, thats so fun and hardore.First party sets the standard. I feel like this same arguement happened with the DS and PSP.

I'm having a hard time understanding gamers this generation(or maybe I should say fanboys of all three varieties) We as gamers have a ton of potentially great games being released the later part of this year(with Nintendo having more 1st party releases since a long time) and all we can do is whine about "But then what?!" I'd swear that some on here would rather sit around and drool over a game for 2 years before it's released than play it.

With the variety of games hitting the PS3 this fall I'll be anything but a space marine. At least those games will immerse me into really cool roles and new worlds to explore. Lair, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Assassins Creed, and Bioshock don't have any space marines. And only one is a FPS, one that is far more innovative then the entire Wii library.

I'm not even gonna bother arguing this, everyone thinks their a hardcore gamer cause they play games with violence. Not saying that you are like that, but I just looked at two other Wii-related threads, its amazing how everyone thinks games HAVE to have violence in order to be hardcore.
Atleast you know the definition of a hardcore gamer.

 for some strange reason I found that funny.

Leaving the rest aside, I'm actually not upset at all... I want less ports and more games that take advantage of the console, in orther to evolve the tech used in it, in a higher pace.
Not everybody is interested in only one platform and not everybody is interested in most platforms, in the exact same way from each other. I in all seriouness, couldn't give a ratz ass about an Assassins creed for the Wii, I want more exclusives for the console that take advantage of it... If I want to play Assassins Creed, I now exactly what to do.

You want exclusives. Nintendo is only offering its old franchises with added waggle. This innovation your looking for does not exist behind the smoke and mirrors of the waggle.
I hope after all that your not buying games like RE4: Wii Edition, it would be highly hypocritical of you.

I'm comfortable at being a hypocrite :) . The new controls for RE4 actually interest me, but I would definitely not get it again... After all, I've already played all of the versions of the game, without counting with the PC version wich I hear is horrible.
As for the above... I'm not really in a mood to go look for a huge list of games just for the hell of it. But as for the known Nintendo franchises, I can definitely see them being used to make good use of the Wiimote... I mean, why not? Mario did it countless times, Zelda? Hell Nintendo franchises have always done new things in many interesting ways in a lot of past generations. So yes I'm interested in the "waggle".
The big three are more than enough for us. Heck, Super mario galaxy is more than enough for hardcore playersharleyrulesall
Wasn't enough to sell more gamecubes. Wasn't enough to sell more N64's.
How is it enough on the Wii?

8 hours a day! .... according to your definition thenbasically no one is a hardcore gamer. Thats impossible if you have a job or go to school. Anyways if you play as much as possible you wouldn't be on this forum, youd be playing video games instead.

Brilliant explanation. People should listen to this guy. His definition of a hardcore gamer actually makes sense.
Anyways, the Wii hardly has any games for the hardcore, the 360 has hardware problems left and right and the PS3 is too expensive. In terms of which console has the least problems, I think the Wii comes first, the PS3 comes second and the 360 comes last. The Wii actually works, has a decent price, and lots of games have been announced. Too bad if these games don't cater to you. The Wii is selling nonetheless, so cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it. The hardcore were leaving Nintendo, so Nintendo found some new friends and now the hardcore are pissed because Nintendo is doing so well and hasn't become a third party developer.

Makes sense. That means if Nintendo went the way of Microsoft and Sony, the industry would probably only be for hardcore gamers now, which means that it would be dying. The industry needs to be kept alive, right? Innovations, affordable and working hardware, games for everyone, not just for a niche. This will only be beneficial for the hardcore as well.
I am a hard-core gamer and I enjoy the wii a lot. Games like wii sports makes more people want to play with you and I like how you can play stuff like brain age for the first time and win (not for the wii but I know they have something similar) and there is way more than "the big 3" just look around for a bit you will find stuff like no more heroes and de blob which look like a lot of fun.
EDIT: and another thing. The big 3 you are refering to are mario galaxy, metroid prime 3, and smash bros. brawl right? Those are just this year and should be more than enough gameplay to last you at least 6 months. besides I know 8 or so that are coming this year.
According to cows, you're not a hardcore gamer unless you have GIANT ENEMY CRABS. ATTACK IT'S WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE
And the 360 is even worse. The year after it came out M$ FINALLY admitted there was a problem with some of the consoles, so they increased the warranty from either 3 or 6 months to a year. A few weeks ago they admitted (after 2 years) that there was a design flaw in all 10 million+ machines, and increased the warranty for 3 years. If they gave a damn about gamers they wouldn't be rushing to market a machine with a basic design flaw. If I pay $300, $400, or $480 for something, it sure as hell better not be flawed, and better work. Nintendo has never released a system where every single one was flawed garbage. Plus it has nothing but FPSs, but that's another issue altogether.
i agree that those games cant compete with assasins creed cod4 or bioshok but comon what about disaster, saddness, no more heros and zack and wiki or mushroom men now thats a list that can atleast compete with cod4 assasins creed bio shock or thr darknessFirst party sets the standard. so thats bad how??? and eventually nintendo will offer new franchises but i still dont see how is that bad as long the games are good it doesnt matter:lol:
Well, to be honest for this year those "Big Three" are more than enough to keep me happy... and they are also nicely spread out through the rest of the year which is also good. Plus, they have more games as well, Fire Emblem is coming in November, BWii is coming in October, and I am actually looking forward to Wii Music assuming that they haven't cancelled it :(

oh grow up yourself - take a look at my games collection - i have plenty of nintendo titles on gamecube and ds, and i have every intention of getting super paper mario! if you bothered to look you would see I live in the UK where super paper mario isnt even out yet! i suggest that you check your facts in future before ranting off and also check out my collection to see i own and appreciate a wide diversity of games, even as a hardcore gamer. Please Log In to post.
