http://kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo/nintendo-share-prices-have-officially-stalled-333304.php

From Kotaku:

Is Nintendo's roller-coaster ride into the commercial stratosphere reaching its apex? Some people are beginning to think so. Nintendo shares have been on the up for years now, but in recent months have stalled, prompting investors to wonder whether their current market domination is as good as its going to get. Fund manager Yoshihisa Okamoto:

People's perception of the PS3 is improving from an underdog to something better, and part of the money that used to flow into Nintendo shares is now going to the Sony stock.

In other words, since the PS3 is now starting to win the punters over, the Wii won't ever (least in the short-term) be in as dominant a position as it is now. What say you, raving-mad Nintendo fans? Is he right? Or will Christmas sales and Wii Fit keep Nintendo investors laughing madly at their bank balances right through 2008?

Huh...... you go from the stock market to hardware sales....

I wish I could follow your obviously super-advanced logic, because I don't see the direct connection.

What did Nintendo over taking Sony as a company have to do with System Wars? Yet we had people posting new threads about it constantly.

Well considering Nintendo's stock price is almost 5 times what it was a year ago I don't think this is a bad thing.

Some usefull info on weekly sales: http://www.vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii®1=All&cons2=PS3®2=All&cons3=X360®3=All&start=39061&end=39425

I would not say that Wii is in trouble, concidering that PS3 significantly lowerd the price recently. Wii still can't keep up with demand, and did not lower prices despite very high volume of manufacturing (meaning cost savings are higher for nintendo due to huge volumes)

It's quite simple. Nintendo only makes video games. Sony makes video games, electronics, movies, BlueRay, and a bunch of other stuff. There is only so high stock prices can go for a company whose only source of profit is video games.

Nintendo is, per employee, the richest company in the world. They only have like 3000 some staff so the amount of money per employee generated is insane. The second best is Google.

Meanwhile, Sony's share prices are continuing to drop. The Wii becomes increasingly popular as time passes. Wii Fit is a huge hit in Japan and it looks like it will be even more successful in America.

Wait a second. Nintendo prices have quintupled in the last two years, and you're worried that it's reached too high?

Are you joking, or what?

The people who decide this aren't necessarily expert enough to know exactly what will happen. If the wii continues to sell well then stock prices might increase again

Reading comprehension for the loss!

If you would have read itthoroughly you would have seen that I did not write it.

See where it says "From Kotaku"?

The article is about more than just Nintendo stock.
