Nintendo- What happened to the best Game Developers in the world?

At one time you could easily say Nintnedo was the best and few would question it. Now Nintnedo is good but no where near the best at game making.

Outside of Mario, What has Nintendo done on the Wii? Zelda TP was a Gamecube Title and not even a great Zelda. Tp was a good Zelda but it heavily borrowed from OoT and no where near as good as that game.

What about People like me who Hate 3D- Platformers? Yes I disliked Mario Galaxy. The Wii has lil to offer and 3rd Party support on the platform is a joke.

Why has NIntendo had such a lack of focus on Quality games. Ok you have Mario galaxy 2 but what else has released on the Wii the last few years that was impressive? Not a Single 3rd party game has had AAA quality and NSMB was an expasion of the DS title.

Outside of Mario what happened to Nintendo? Oh and lets not waste time discussing future games becasue they could flop like Animal crossing Wii.

Well I don't know where you've been when Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, No More Heroes 2, and Red Steel 2 came out.

They made the 2007 GOTY, Zelda TP won a lot of GOTY in 2006, Brawl won some in 2008, NSMB was very good and sold many copies and SMG2 is likely 2010's GOTY, also they've released dozens of quality games on the Wii and DS since their launch

I see no reason to be alarmed.

Perhaps you don't like the genres they're making games in ?

Super Mario Galaxy 2. 10.0. One of the only perfect scores in Gamespot history. 98 on Metacritic. 2nd or 3rd highest rated game of all time on Game Rankings. Came out yesterday. That is all.

What Quality Games are you looking for? If they didn't make Wii Sports or Resort then

1. Wii's would have sold horribly since Wii Sports was it's Killer App

and

2. People would have complained on the Motion Controls even more if Resort didn't come out.

and

3. Wii Fit is actually helping people and gave Nintendo the Heart Association's Seal of Approval.

and

4. What "Quality Games" are you looking for? "New IPs?" Honestly I think if Nintendo made a "New IP" it would be overlooked.

These threads are pointless when there are clearly lots of quality games on the Wii, and you just say they don't interest you. I seriously doubt you've played many if any Wii games.

Seriously, just counting exclusives: Metroid Prime 3, SMG, SMG2, Sin and Punishment 2, Super Paper Mario, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Wario Land: Shake It, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Battallion Wars 2, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, NSMBWii, Mario Strikers Charged, Excite Truck, Excite Bots, Endless Ocean, Endless Ocean 2, Animal Crossing, Punch-Out!!, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart Wii.

And that's just Nintendo published. Also, there is WiiWare where Nintendo brough Dr. Mario and the fantastic Art Style series. If you can't find one of those games that interest you... what games do you play? Only shooters (there is, in fact a shooter in the list)? If that's all you play, then that's fine, play those games. But don't complain about how Nintendo hasn't brough quality games to the Wii just because of your refusal to play them or at least play other types of games.

And the lack of good 3rd party games isn't something that Nintendo has control over. Hence why it's a 3rd party production. If companies want to make Just Dance and Babysitting Mama because they think it'll make them money, that's their choice.

I love how Super Mario Galaxy 2 gets a 10/10 and this guy has the juevos to say Nintendo sucks.

If you are not appealed by GOTY 2007 and 2010, then Nintendo is simply not for you.

It is obvious you like Nintendo games. I do not like their recent efforts. Oh and the Wii is judge from a lower standard then the xbox 360/ps3. If you released games like Red Steel 2 and No more Heros on the 360/ps3 they would be getting 5-6 range scores. Look I don't want to dislike the Wii. Mine is a major dust collector but I hope Metroid Other M changes that. If Wii is your only option then I could see spending time with it. When you own the other 2 consoles the 3rd party games on wii are pathetic. Well, i prefer controlling the world as a king, than doing some temples again and again, after Zelda OOT got a bot old, Fable 3 is what i expected zelda series to come down to

Nintendo is easily still one of the best devs on earth

If someone came up to me today and said Nintendo is the best, i'll think its a pretty good choice.
