well obviously. The PC is a single format that transcends generations (also gamespot underrates all PC games). But i thought that when making a system comparison we go buy AAAE's and if it ends a draw we use AAE's as a fallback.

If a system's library is judged on both AAAE's and AAE's how do we work it out? how many AAE's are equivelant to one AAAE?

even if we just look at games from when the 360 launched the pc is still far ahead. dunno about the second part though.

Seriously, nothing to brag about PC being superior. I still can't belive people think it's fine to compare PC's to consoles. It's the dumbest logic ever known to man. PC have has been around for 20 years+..of course the games library is going to surpass SINGLE consoles game libraries.

And this is one more myth that should be dashed. Game preferences are subjective while sales are concrete.

we decided long ago to use a standard to avoid the whole opinion wars thing. gamespot was the standard. sales don't always reflect quality.

Console gaming has always been better than Pc gaming. Opinions aside the genre of games is far more diverse for consoles. Like PS2 for instance.

We don't count PC titles as one huge generation bud. We compare them from the generation that the new consoles come from.

Wii may be leading now but at the end of this gen PS3 will be first second X360 and 3rd Wii. When PS3 price drops and when more games will be avaible then alot of the PS2 users will get a PS3 most likely. And when 120 million sony fanboys will switch the game will be over for 360 and the Wii.

The Wii could take first. But at the same time, Halo 3 may be what keeps the X360 in the lead. Think about it. H3 is situated to become the biggest entertainment launch of all time. That will count for something.rpawloski2458

I don't know the exact sales number of the original Halo games, but assuming Halo 3 moves even 15 million consoles in its lifespan (and that is a very generous amount since some of those sales will be going to people who all ready own a 360; Halo 1 and 2 sold about 15m combined), I don't see that being enough to outpace the Wii in the long-term.

But I still think we should open it up to see if we should go by games or sales. The standard shouldn't stay the same. Even if we go by reviews, we shouldn't necessarily go by it because the standard decided upon long ago was for a completely different review system. Now if the second time around everyone agrees to continue using GS' new review system, then I can accept that.

I love people who think PS3 is going to win. IT IS NOT. It does not have a chance. Xbox has a chance because of Halo 3, but Nintendo makes up for that with it's big 3, so it's really between them. I know you only have 13 posts, but this is the kinda thinking that got sony in trouble to begin with. 120 million PS2 owners are not sony fanboys. They are 90% casual gamers. And casual gamers switch consoles like the wind. They simply buy what all their friends are playing. And right now, all their friends are palying Wiis and 360s.

Even if the PS3 gets the games, it's still too exspensive. And at the rate consoles drop in price, by the time PS3 is down to $200 (the price where casuals will buy a console) it will be too late.

I honestly don't care. I am happy as long as the 360 delivers good games to me so I can play them and have fun. I mean what is the point of system wars, who cares who has the most sales? Video games and consoles are made to play not to spend hours comparing advantages/disadvantages about each system. So what, maybe you're a sheep? Maybe you're a cow or a lemming? That just means that you are dedicated to the system you own. Maybe you don't like the wii and just like to play worth-while games? Last Gen PS2,Xbox,GC sold 176 Million consoles together and i am not even including dreamcast here. This Gen has sold just over 25 million consoles and i am counting X360,PS3 and Wii together.

As for PS3 being expensive, its the most cheapest consoles in this gen if you look at what you are getting for the money.

I am 100% sure that PS3 at the end will win in terms of sales. PS2 when it came out was $100 more expensive than Dreamcast and had alot of problems but people still buyed it. history will repeat it self again.

haha no lol a boot sale or car boot sale is like a garage sale in america, but with lots of people in one place.

As for the war, I don't see anything taking over the wii in sales now and by tradition that would make the Wii this generations winner. But - since "teh wii is for teh casuals" and sales apparantly no longer matter (which means GC > PS2) this gen has blasted wide open as all consoles have potential for the best games.

I'm not sure about others, but for me, it just makes the most logical sense to do it this way. That's how the NES, SNES, PS1, and PS2 won their respective gens.

but 360 will always be my favourite console (except for when i got the RROD, but my new one is fine.)
