[QUOTE="colmusterd28"]I see the wii as an impulse buy....hee hee no seriously, I see the wii as leveling off as Nintendo enters yet another gen of terrible third party support. Also, please don't say the 360 is 50 dollars more expencive than wii when everyone knows its really 150...thats as bad as the cows who say PS3 is 500 dollars...lets be real, shall we?nanomecha4Manhunt coming out for Wii ;)

Umm where have you been? Nintendo announced that there would be approximately 6 million Wii's shipped by March, although that figure could be extended considering how fast its selling and on a daily basis its selling out around here. 4.5 million might be a bit inaccurate, however I would imagine that the 4 million mark would be where Nintendo is sitting at. The demand has pushed them to produce more consoles and increase their estimated quota for March.
According to technology industry wide hardware sales analysts NPD Group and Media-Create.People are still paying 399 for the 360 why would they drop the price? Let alone why would they cancel subscription fees to XBL when its the most successful online console service to date, not to mention the most profitable? What microsoft should do (and in my opinion should have done in the first place) was got rid of the core completely when the PS3 and Wii shipped, and maybe dropped the price to 350 for the premium. But still, like i said before, people are still paying 399 for the premium, why would they drop? Not to mention, people are picking up the Core system and then shelling out even more money just for the hard drive. The 360 is in a good place.
Wii has 4.5 Million Consoles Sold in 3 Months. Xbox 360 9 Million consoles sold in 15 Months.
Wii has already 50% of 360's sales in 1/5th the Time!!! It is only $50 cheaper than the 360 and Bill Gates sees it as 360's biggest competition. His so called biggest competition is gonna own the 360 in sales by Q1 08.
Nintendo Wii is eating up the cheaper low budget market. SONY is eating up the higher end money spender market. Microsoft is stuck in the middle holding its coffin. Should Microsoft cut the price of the "premium" 360 to $299.99 and make XBL free to compete with the Wii?

I have a 360 and plan on buying a wii and a PS3 later this year........when they have games. The Wii has nothing on it that would get me to spend the 250, plus, the games it does have look much better on the 360 and PS3. As for the PS3, I'm waiting for god of war 3 and some decent blu ray movies.
the Wii sold so fast because it's 250 dollars, but once you have it, what are you going to play? I think I'll just keep playing my 10 360 games and enjoy myself till next year when the other systems begin getting good games.
I doubt media create and NPD show the numbers as 4.5 million because they only include Japan and NA. Also has NPD data been released for January? Link me because I only saw November and December data and in December the 360 was outselling the Wii almost 2:1 in the US.

Microsoft stuck in the middle... :| OMG LOL!!Golden_surferSONY had 45% of Hardware sales in December. Nintendo had like 43%. Microsoft 13%. They are squeezing Microsoft hard.
The 360 was sold out for months after launch, and sold briskly
The Wii is sold out three months after launch, and sells briskly
The PS3 was on store shelves the day before Christmas, and has remained on store shelves, sales numbers are *far* lower than the Wii.
Will the Wii "slaughter" the 360? Not in America. In Japan? Absolutely. However to regard that as "the death" of the 360 is foolish. Five years from now? I don't see the Wii being this generations winner. Remember, SDTVs are going the way of the dinosaur, and eventually all of the consoles are going to hit a price floor ($99 ~ $150 last generation) where sales really won't be price-locked. Does the Wii have the power to really "dominate" for the next four ~ five years? Does it have the game library - will it - to compete with the money M$ is investing into PC/360 games?
The Wii is riding high on novelty and a low-price right now, it won't always enjoy those advantages. Nintendo has yet to address the "what comes after Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports" question. What is their long term game plan?
animal names are so stupid btw. I rather use SONY Microsoft Nintendo. That way Lemmings know they are Microsoft fanboys :lol:nanomecha4
[QUOTE="Golden_surfer"]Microsoft stuck in the middle... :| OMG LOL!!nanomecha4SONY had 45% of Hardware sales in December. Nintendo had like 43%. Microsoft 13%. They are squeezing Microsoft hard. Too bad Sony can't sell anyone there PS3, and more people are buying there 6 year old PS2. I bought a PS3 on store shelves in December. I had to wait until March of the next year to find a 360 anywhere. Also those numbers you see in reports are *shipped* and not *sold*, hence why they are sitting in stores.
True.......Nintendo will most definately sell the most systems this gen......and actually have some good games by the end of 2007.......but just because it sells like hotcakes....doesn't make it the best....360 is actually an amazing system with stellar (if that is a word) online.....games like GoW and DoA are (atleast to me) amazing!!!
I was a devoted Nintendo fan before this gen.....and I waited 12 hours in line to get my Wii on launch....but now that I have a Wii......I wouldn't mind getting a 360 as well....it's just THAT good..
bottom line is......Nintendo is making profit on each system....and most likely selling the most systems....seems like Nintendo actually knows what they are doing this gen.
But 360 is fun, with great online....and has some excellent M rated games to settle the stomach of the hardcore gamers
Wait until the Wii has as large an installed base before you declare it the king. For all we know it could hit 7 million and then every one who wanted one has it and sales drop off the face of the earth.
There is also the chance that people will wake up and realize its a gimmicky piece of crap. Your wishfull thinking has a lot of fuel becouse I think it will continue to sell for a long time to come. But its going to need the whole package and that includes great software sales.
Its way to early to declare any system the winner.

Wii and X360 should never kill each other. Like I said before, both are more of a combination than a rival against PS3. Wii is mostly geared for Casual gamers and X360 for Hardcore ones (no arguement on that) as you can see the type of games they're offering. So to those lemmings who bash Wii due to it's graphics and games (kiddy), should think twice because so far, it's selling so fast that it's still considered sold out to most of tha areas; so far, lemmings have NO SAY to Wii unless, as most cases are, you are a Hardcore gamer; so it is understandable. Sheep will always be sheeps but so far, I see mostly the cows using the sheep to bash X360.Zaistev_basicExactly! Rare is still make games for Nintendo, and they are owned by Microsoft. Mistwalker is rumored to be developing games for Nintendo also, and they are owned by Microsoft. Whatever it takes to topple the once unstoppable Sony Playstation brand.

First he was pretending to be a hermit, and now a sheep. They can't back up there own console because it isn't in the greatest shape right now. So they have to put false hope in something they are not even a fan of just to bash Microsoft and the Xbox 360.

The 360 is still beating the Wii considering it has sold more, and sales are not usually the same for a whole gen. But it sure as hell is wiping the floor with the PS3.Tulak_HordAs a fact, it's true that X360 beats Wii by overall numbers. But it is afact too that the speed of sales for Wii beats X360 by a large margin. Game ratio, well X360 has more games released due to it's haed start. We can argue all the facts about numbers and sales. Regardless, the appeal of the Wii is for casual gamers and even non-gamers which are the largest consumer group compare to hardcore gamers. You wonder why Gates felt that Nintendo is their greatest threat?

It is my understanding that the 360 has sold over 11m worldwide now...no? I know for sure they passed 10m this holiday season.
But yes, the Wii has sold very well out of the gate...can it maintain that momentum...only time will tell.
theres something about nintendos wii that will last just over a year before you have to buy a new one
game show reviews from 3rd person shooters say the control is very bad

And the Wii-mote is new, so most people are buying it saying that they should at least try it or use it as a secondary console (which is what I am about to do). But then again we cannot speak for the sales of a whole gen. The 360 was bought by mostly owners of Xbox, people thought it was too expensive (until PS3 came). And lots of people wanted a wait and see approach. Anyway, the Wii still has about half of the sales of the 360 to catch up, it might catch up and take over, or slow down, we never know. However, I do know price is a major factor in sales.

Which is why the 360 outsold it in December as well as November.fatzombiepigeonYou are talking only in North America, which is true. Consider also the supplies. No point comparing. Likewise, X360 is for hardcore, and Wii so far is for casuals.
According to technology industry wide hardware sales analysts NPD Group and Media-Create.Well, assuming you're right, then the Wii will by far outsell both other systems, and PS3 will come in last. Why? The higher end money spender market is much smaller than the cheaper low budget market.
