What makes you think that, Wii? Wii has a 10 years old hardware lol how could it even overheat? Since WiiU is finally catching 2006 tech there's much more chance of overheating but if even 360 don't overheat anymore the WiiU needs to be build fully with Made in China pieces to break/overheat.
My Wii and 360 each broke once. My PS3 did not. So, for me, the two best selling consoles were unreliable and the least selling one was reliable...locopatho
seconded, i like to give sony a lot of flak around here but you have to give credit where it is due.
my 60gig launch system is still going strong.
3rd time must have been a charm because my ps1 and ps2 were junk.
i went through 2 ps1s and 3 ps2 over the course of their gens.
But wouldn't that mean Microsoft and Sony would win? Less reliable hardware means people have to buy your system more than once, thus boosting sales and generating more revenue to make better games. That's how things work, right?

My Wii has broken twice. Family has had atleast 2 broken ones. The only difference with the Xbox/ps3 is you literally lose everything you bought.

How do you loose everything? With the PS3 and the Xbox if you buy something it is tied to your Gamertag / PSN id. If your console dies you can re-download everything you bought. The only thing you can loose is saved games if you don't back them up. With the Wii everything is tied to the console. When my first Wii died I lost probably $70 worth of downloaded stuff, and Nintendo did nothing to replace it.
M$ needs to step up their game next gen, im on my 3-4th one lost count, though the last one didnt RRoD but still hardware problems, My Wii also kind of broke, not really it just couldn't read double layer dvds so Nintendo cleaned it for me, haven't had a PS3 for too long but no problems yet.

wii never broke yes, and my 360 also never had ANY problems which was quite surprising. Got in 2008 when reliability seemed to be at the highest on those models. Not even the slims are reliable.
