1-nintendo 3ds is the top selling handheld -still a nintendo product so if 2 fails 1 is still there -either way nintendo wins

2- wii u has mario at launch and at the right price its a go let me tell you the last time we saw 2 successive nintendo consoles succeed they each had one game in common -----mario bros 2 d side scrollers!

not only that but if its 200 250 or 300 $ it will fly off the shelves because 300 is the sweet spot

The quality of exclusives wasn't up for debate in here. You stated the failure rates would carry them to sales nirvana. Failure rates were lowest for Nintendo in each of those two gens. They were outsold in each rather handily.

I never had any problems with a Nintendo system until the Wii. Disc drive stop working. One of the reasons why I loved the GC was because it was a top loader.

Well the Wiis reliable because it's old tech, there's no risk or heating issues. You'd have to be a complete melon to design it wrong.
