How the hell would you know? You don't even have the GAME!!! Go get the game, download the patch, turn off the cross color reduction filter on your PS3(yes, turning this off also helps reduce lag) THEN tell me it lags. It doesn't, and if it does it's not that much. Not only did they fix the lag problems with the patch, they ALSO fixed the dead zone problems. So trust me... stop playing the demo and go pick up the actual game because you're really missing out.

Messiahbolical-

So wait... It's "Fixed" and I have to edit my PS3's settings to get it to work properly? Like I said, I need cold hard evidence it's fixed, because I'm not wasting my money on something I'll hate.

Anyway, here's the video I watched demonstrating the lag after the patch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUvUGz4VORs

And I was wrong, it wasn't a fix from 4 frames to 3.5 frames. It was a fix from 5 frames to 4 frames.

That's not "Fixed"

in general... i despise games with an overall time limit. eg 30 days in pikmin. i wouldnt look at the game because of that decision. i dont mind certain parts being timed but an overall limit is a game breaking decision in my book. thankfully pikmin 2 dumped the limit and is a cracking game :D. zelda PH on the DS.....it made one fatal flaw. the repeating dungeon. everything besides that was geat. i loved the controls and the outer dungeons and so on. but that centeral dungeon killed ot for me. i got 2 map pieced from it and just couldnt bring myself to go into it again a 3rd time. a game breaker imho.

Right, button lag. About a 1/2 second delay, talk about minor. I'd rather go play "twitch" shooter in which it's SO easy to aim because the game does it for you, no classes, just cluttered run n gun mess. No teamwork, FTW!

You understand how long a 1/2 second means when you're playing a game, right?

Kind of, but not every game needs to be fast-paced. KZ2 is slow-paced for a reason, it's supposed to be "tactical". It's not just COD run n gun type mess or the like. R2 was extremely fast-paced, but I didn't like it. Too much of a disorganized mess and no time to breathe. And the half-second delay is barely noticeable to me. I don't know, maybe I'm not too "critical". Then again, I hate auto-aim and aim assist, so I'm not buying any games with that crap anymore. The only game I can even stand that in is R&C, but that's more platform than shooter.

KZ isn't tactical at all, I got sick of it fast because it was too easy to rank up, the controls were terrible and it was really annoying to aim when everyone spammed grenades constantly and it shook your screen up. If you want tactical you should play some CS or something. KZ does have aim assist by the way, it's quite prominent to be honest.

I'm not paying a red cent for the game until I have some solid proof that it's really fixed. I watched some video comparisons after the patch, and as I said, it was only a .5 frame difference after the patch. An improvement, but I'd still notice it, and be annoyed by it. If it's really fixed, then they should patch the demo too so I can try it out - for now I'm taking the evidence I've already found.

Even if they did fix it, the game isn't very good. The campaign is really repetitive, and the multiplayer is ruined by dire voice chat options, no party mode and the other flaws I mentioned in my previous post. Also, the dialogue is terrible in the campaign, literally half of it is swearing.

I don't mind a time limit if it's done in a way that allows for error - I thought Majora's Mask was pretty good about this. As for repetitive dungeons, I totally agree. I stopped playing the second Paper Mario almost near the end of the game because they force you to walk back and forth through boring paths covered in monsters several times to "progress" through the game.

KZ2's button lag was fixed LONG time ago. for me kz2 is ruined coz of rocket launcher noobs, the aiming is bad but I still enjoy the game with bad aiming but the rocket launchers are just pathetic. Gears 2 multiplayer is ruined coz of matchmaking and lag. Halo 3 and gears 2 have the worst matchmaking coz you cant choose the gametype you want to play. Cod4 had great and really fast matchmaking. gears 2 should have had cod4 type matchmaking

Well, I can't stand Street Fighter 4 because it seems to expect you to have been one of those kids who wasted afternoons playing Street Fighter arcade machines(which I couldn't have been, because, surprisingly, I've yet to see a Street Fighter machine in any of the few arcades that are around) and know how to play beforehand, and because the game seems pretty old even though it's only a month or two old...and I couldn't get into Left 4 Dead either, too repetitive and pointless...run, shoot, run, shoot...uhhh...okay...?

I think the value of Left 4 Dead weighs heavily on the people you play it with.

My biggest Nit Pick is timers, long timers. It just makes me paranoid even if you have loads of time to do what you want to do. I also can't stand bad dialouge in games with no voice acting. Trying to play Morrowind was awful, it was like huge paragraphs of complete dross from every character you met. There's only so much dry reading I can stand before wanting to either kill myself or something else.

That was actually why I never got into morrowind (That and the fact that they had a "Miss" mechanic on an action based battle system.) No one talks a paragraph when you walk up to them, so "bad dialogue" is a good description for it.

I wouldn't have minded if they had got the point across quickly, but in Morrowind for the short time I played it I was going to fall asleep if I hadn't stopped. The combat system is also bad. I don't know what people liked about Morrowind actually, the most important elements of the game were heavily flawed. One of the dryest gaming experiences of my life.

It was a massive game, and that aspect was appealing. I think they improved things a lot with Oblivion - I can actually play it. Hopefully the next Elder Scrolls game gets things right accross the board. (They really need to dump that grinding leveling system in favor of something experienced based. Since the main appeal of Oblivion isn't the battle system but the world itself, I can still enjoy it to a degree, but man that leveling system sucks.)

Unfair checkpoints.

Its completelyunnecessary defeated hords of enemies, then make a simple mistake and have to re-do all the waves of enemies.

My most recent example of this is in heavenly sword, the first encounter with that flying fox guy, on my second runthrough of the game on hell mode, i took out the 3/4 batches of enemies that jump down, then damaged flying fox to the end where you have to do the quick time event - i messed up the quicktime event, the boss restores his health and as im on my last legs he finnishes me off in 5 minutes. Then i realised rather than restarting you at the boss battle you have to take out all his cronies again then defeat him again, things like that realy cheese me off.

And im going to have to have a dig at kz2s controls too, they're are absolutly fine when youve been playing for a while and the game is a blast - but i took a break, played some other games and went back and just couldnt get into it. Im all for them adding the feeling of weight but after lots of contemplation i feel its a bit excessive for my liking. I wish they had done it in a more subtle way, as not to hamper my enjoyment. The game itself is one of, if not the, best fps out.

[QUOTE="AlexSays"]Oh great, I was just about to buy Killzone 2. What button lag?Doolz2024

AKA input lag, is basically when you press a button, then there is a delay (no matter how slight) before the action is performed in-game. Trust if you play CoD, then go to playing KZ2, it will be almost unbearable at first, and once you go back to cod, you'll probably never want to go back to KZ2.

EDIT: after playing KZ2 for a couple of months, then going back to WaW and CoD4, it's safe to say that I'm officially through with KZ2. The controls are simply too unresponsive for me. CoD's are perfect imo :D

It was the exact opposite for me after playing Killzone 2 i could not go back to COD 4. I never did like how easy Cod4 was i could quit then go back and still run over people. Its way to easy for beginners imo as they give you the best weapon in the game first.

Overly long and difficult training modes. They teach you stuff that you don't really need to know, and pretty much force you into overly complicated strategies that aren't as good the ones you've already thought up. If you're forced into those modes, that alone can be enough to make me give up on the game

Yet you can stomach other Final Fantasy games consisting of girly male lead characters that are complete drama queens half of the game? Lightning is a breath of fresh air....Not to mention that awesome brotha with the baby chocobo living in his' "fro".

honestly, I wouldnt even be giving FF13 the time of day,if Lightning was a male character.

and like Aljosa stated,FF6 (the best FF,IMO) also had female leads.

Who? Zidane? Tidus? Squall? Frionel? Butz? Cloud? Not exactly girly..... Some maybe kinda sensitive, but never feminine.

In your opinion, not mine ;)

They werent an extreme focal point in the game, the male leads evened it out as they were focused on alot as well.

When I feel the game isn't worth the money. It may be a good game but if I don't think it was worth how much I bought it for I get really mad. Hulk mad.

umm yeah,I can read.being condecending is awesome eh?

with the exception of Zidane, and "Bartz",all those others were complete drama queens,Squall and Cloud's Brooding around got extremely annoying..and Tidus was a complete crybaby, and not too mention had some of the lamest dialogue in any FF..but hey if you wanna consider that kind of stuff "heartwarming",then by all means.

and funny you left out Vaan..

and there's plenty of cool males Chars in FF13,like the Black guy which I already mentioned.

What? You mean the "in red"? You cant leave your post empty, its against the rules and since I posted in your quote I wrote in red in mine, geez.

Cloud and Squall werent exactly drama queens, they were just real downers. I havent played 10 so I judged Tidus from Dissidia, hes a real fun loving person.

Know whats funnier? I never played 12

We know next to nothing about the black fellow, so why is he cool? The chocobo in his fro? The guns? or the fact that he's african american?

The Temple of the Ocean King ruined Phantom Hourglass for me. It somehow combined so many bad ideas and made PH the first bad Zelda game.

A lack of checkpoints, or poorly placed checkpoints. A challenge is fine, but having to replay the same section over and over again after dying is not.

When RPG's slow down a lot (take too long to reach max).
I rather get to max relatively fast in an MMO than have it not end by implementing major grinding.
You wouldn't believe how many games this ruins for me.

I never understood how people didn't like that temple :P Since there are new area's every time You go through, and shortcuts and new things to find in the older parts. It takes 2 minutes per time You head back, to get where You were >.> I know it wasn't great but it never bothered me. And like i said, i hate grinding or anything like grinding.

I really wanted to like Dead Rising, but the time limit and save system ruined it imo :(

[QUOTE="TheElfChild"][QUOTE="osan0"]in general... i despise games with an overall time limit. eg 30 days in pikmin. i wouldnt look at the game because of that decision. i dont mind certain parts being timed but an overall limit is a game breaking decision in my book. thankfully pikmin 2 dumped the limit and is a cracking game :D. zelda PH on the DS.....it made one fatal flaw. the repeating dungeon. everything besides that was geat. i loved the controls and the outer dungeons and so on. but that centeral dungeon killed ot for me. i got 2 map pieced from it and just couldnt bring myself to go into it again a 3rd time. a game breaker imho.

I don't mind a time limit if it's done in a way that allows for error - I thought Majora's Mask was pretty good about this. As for repetitive dungeons, I totally agree. I stopped playing the second Paper Mario almost near the end of the game because they force you to walk back and forth through boring paths covered in monsters several times to "progress" through the game.

oh yeah..MMs doesent bother me (so far anyway..ive only really started it). technically that wasnt a time limit since u could basically reset it at any time. i mean games where once the time limit is over..its game over and u have to start again. ugh. oh another thing that really grinds my gears (family guy reference :P) is unskippable cutscenes. news flash devs..ure cutscenes arent THAT good....get over yourself and keep ure eyes on the prize...keeping the player entertained. just say no to unskippable cutsences devs..have it on ure check list. thankfully thats rare now. terrible voice acting also really annoys me. it nearly ruined tales of symphonia for me (god it was bad). just dont do it if ure not going to do it right....ill read the text instead thank you.

[QUOTE="AlexSays"]Oh great, I was just about to buy Killzone 2. What button lag?TheElfChild

Try the demo. It's on there. The game doesn't register that you've pushed ANY button until your finger is well off the controller.

Stop being a noob, that problem is way exaggerated unless you have super human senses. And it was fixed in the actually game months ago

As for me, frustrating difficulty really ruins the game. Often it's not me, it's the games incompetence :P Like with LBP, not only do you have very precise controls over your jump but you have to make up for momentum which really becomes a pain when you're trying to do accurate platforming.

[QUOTE="aroxx_ab"]

I beat the game once and had np with lag what i remember, first time i hear about this.

TheElfChild

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0iFiLK8VVw

This video demonstrates it really well. Watch this guy's fingers and how the screen reacts to the button pushes. He also demonstrates the button input time in the XMB as a comparison.

If you don't notice the Button lag, then fine, buy Killzone 2 and enjoy it. For me, it's gamebreaking.

It only happens to certain people, for most people the reason they have no idea what your talking about is because their controls react perfectly. I dont ahve the button lag, i did the same things the guy did in the video and mine reacts perfectly while his is delayed.

Loading times, especially in Odin Sphere where the pacing is ruined. Still a great game.

The vehicle sections in Half Life 2. It took me awhile to get the hang of it. Still a great game.

SSBB online. Still a great game.

Glitches that ruin games and make you restart the gamelike in Prince of Persia Warrior Within.

I cannot stand a racing game with rubber-banding. It makes the entire first three quarters of a race pointless.

Resistance games. The most bland and uninspired setting I've seen in an FPS.

Oh God I hate it when items clip through clothing. I especially hate it in Fable II (Great game though)
