First they sh*t (past tense, btw) on the legacy of Aliens movie they wanted so fondly to model the game on - wanting us to suspend our disbelief that such huge thermonuclear blast left the Hadley's Hope colony still standing. Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop could've just hidden behind the desk :D Maybe Hudson would've lived too ;)
But anyway, here's a report from SDCC...

Here is one excerpt concering the acid blood damage:
I asked if smaller creatures such as facehuggers and chestbursters would be playable in the MP, and they confirmed that anything smaller than humanoid-form would not be available. I expressed that the decision to forego that option was a missed opportunity. Another aspect that I got them to confirm was that the alien?s acidic blood would indeed affect the marines. There are cringe animations when they come in contact with the blood and damage would result from it. However, the acidic blood would not affect players in the campaign because it proved too frustrating and took a lot of the ?fun factor? from the game when ?seven dead aliens would bottleneck players & kill them.? Although it?s hard to hear, it does make sense.

To me this is an act of removing a feature that made the Xenomorph creature iconic in the first place, it wasn't called a "perfect organism" by Ash in the first movie for no reason, Parker in the first movie also said: ?It?s got a wonderful defence mechanism. You don't dare kill it.?
It is pitiful to think that lacklustre AVP 2010 by Rebellion in the end might be the more realistic game...
What do you think??
